Went out with hunting rig for my evening shooting session.... Other than a busted lip, bruised cheek and no small amount of disappointment I'm OK.
Just goes to show equipment failure can happen anytime. Even though there were no warning signs or evidence of a problem its still a good idea to check your gear.
Happened at full draw btw.

Dang! Sorry bro
That really sucks! Glad you weren't hurt.

Brings a tear to my eye
Ow that hurts. As long as you didn't get hurt everything will be OK. You can always get a new bow.
Sorry about the bow, but glad you were not hurt!
As stated, I'm just glad you were not seriously injured! Sorry about your bow. :(
Sorry about the problem with your bow, but I sure am glad you were not seriously hurt.
I appreciate that guys, have another which set up same for my hunting arrows, etc. so I'm in good shape for in a couple weeks when my season starts.
Eric
Looks like you had the connexion hinge. I have heard about several failures with that type of takedown.
Dang, that sucks! I've had several bows break and they only do it at full draw. One of them was a connexion hinge when the screws broke. I have 4 Mohawks, all 52-53 # if you need a back for your backup.

Man! I am so sorry it happened and I am truly grateful that you weren't seriously injured.
If you have need just let me know.
God bless,Mudd

Just happened to me yesterday . Did not break but the riser separated as I was drawing. 66" Mohawk 45lbs. Been trying to contact Vince .

Got to thinking and just want to be clear. I think every bow made has the potential for failure in some fashion. This just happens to be a Mohawk, I've loved each one I have had and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

  :scared: :scared:
I am glad that you are ok!

Yep, They are fine bows!
that sucks.
I have been there the same way. had a recurve lower limb give out 3 days before leaving for a big hunt. It sucks bad. But now you get to buy a new bow! so there is a silver lining!
Glad you weren't seriously hurt to bad about your bow .
Vince does make great bows, but I am a little afraid of the take-down system. All systems have failures, but I have heard more from that system that the others. Glad that you are ok.

True. Love how simple the hinge is but to be honest I don't know that I'd get that system again
Eric
Man what a bummer, glad youre 'generally' ok. Hope you get back shooting soon. Don't let what happened hold you back.

Not at all. Was bummed for a bit but got up and put the quiver on my other Mohawk and got to shooting. I'm still ready, it's all good

Sorry, that's terrible. Glad it didn't bite you!
Sorry for you hope you can replace it with something you like.My favorite Bob Lee limbs blew up about a month ago.The new replacements just don't have the feel of my old ones.Kip
Thank you Eric for being a great example of how to handle such a negative situation.
Also for pointing out the fact that anything made by human hands can fail.
Sometimes even people fail but the awesome ones get up and begin again...just like you have done!
Not to insinuate that you failed in any way but just the opposite my friend, you have succeeded in the midst of your bow's failure.
Thank you again!
God bless,Mudd
Bummer, it's only happened to me once so far, bamboo backed oak. I had been hearing a funny "creaking" for a couple of shots, but couldn't see any physical defects. I thought maybe it was just the grip shifting or something, then all of a sudden...snapped in half. Fortunately the leather grip acted as a kind of hinge. I had actually won that bow and had nothing in it, but it was a great shooter and seriously hurt my feelings. Oh Well, it happens, you weren't seriously injured is the main thing.
Here in Michigan, archery deer season opens Oct. 1st...many years ago, I had my bow break on September 20th...with no back up.
I was hunting with a new bow on the opener, and I killed a deer with it two weeks after that. It`s been fifteen years...still with the same bow, BUT now I have a back up.
Glad you weren`t hurt. :campfire:
