Title: 1st selfbow
Post by: arrowhead archer on September 05, 2013, 07:11:00 PM
I'm making a snakey osage selfbow. Unbraced the string runs down the middle of handle but at brace height the bottom limb twists any way I can fix this. First selfbow and I have a lot of hours in to it.thanks for any suggestions I can get.

Head over to the bowyers bench..it's not a tough fix and those guys can keep you on the straight and narrow.

Selfbows are a lot like potato chips in that you can't hardly just build one...lol

God bless,Mudd

My first one was real snakey too!  Everyone asked why did you start with that crooked wood?  Well when you're new at it, and no one tells you that you can't....a good bow comes out!
Good luck, and just go SLOW!
