I did a quick search and was surprised that there was no information related to this topic. I am looking for suggested brace height for a Schafer Silvertip. Thanks!
wrong forum. But I am sure with 1710 posts you know allready!
7 3/4 to 8" will be the sweet spot. Measured from the throat of the grip!
Thanks Tim for the input! I also appreciate el greco pointing out that I was on the wrong forum when I made this post. That is what happens when a question comes to mind late at night and you just have to have an answer! (you pick the wrong forum)
I have contacted Admin. about moving this post to Pow Wow. Sorry for any inconvenience!
i agree with Tim, mine like 7 3/4 to 8"
I've never shot one that wasn't a 60"
But I've always had the best luck between 7 1/2 and 7 3/4. I've never had to crank one up to 8" to get it to tune. They definitely get loud if you go below 7 1/2"
All of mine like 7 3/4 to 8".
el greco I am sure with only 483 posts you should know better than to be rude!! Mine like Tim always liked right around 8"s! Shawn
My 19" riser likes 7 3/4 - 8" also but just wondering if the riser length might influence that number?...Tom.
I shoot both my 60" and 62" at right about 7 1/2"....seems to work great for me on both bows. Rick
My 58 inch likes 71/2.
All, as always I appreciate everyone's feedback. I did adjust my Silvertip to 7 3/4's and man what a difference! The bow quieted right down and the accuracy is what I would have expected! Again, I appreciate everyone's input. Rob was great about getting this post moved to where it belonged... consider this a "shout out" for Trad Gang Admin.... they are all great!
My 60" likes 7 5/8 best
I have 60 inch recurves and I run mine 7 1/2 to 7 3/4. My 62 inch longbow is just a tad lower.
D.P.
7-1/2 to 7-3/4" for my 58"-60" bows and a nice skinny string.
