What do you guys think about a trad wood bow vs the new machine aluminum bows?

the durability etc. etc.
I think you should use what you like the aluminum bows are very adjustable and can be tuned very well but it requires a little more know how as to quality and durability I personally think there is no real difference as long as you are comparing top of the line aluminum to a top of the line wood bow. Personally I love the look and feel of a wood bow and the only way I would shoot an aluminum bow is if I wanted to be a serious target shooter but that's my opinion. I think you should try them both out and go with what you like best Good Luck Delin
I like them both. All of the metal riser bows I've shot are great shooting bows and With most of them you've got the option of affordable, good performing limbs too.
My "all time" favorite bow thogh is a wood-handle Bob Lee recurve.
Not that my opinion means much, or anyone else's, but I consider any recurve/longbow to be a "traditional bow" regardless of what it's made of .
The monkey behind it makes the difference, not what the riser is made of.
Some bows are more adjustable, which means they might be easier to tune (turn a screw rather than change points/arrows/etc), but either one will do the job just fine.

the only thing i found and it is not good for me is the weight of the bows metal vs's wood. due to disability i need the lightest physical weight bow i hold and carry around. though i liked the metal risered bow it was just too heavy. people think i am crazy for this statement but when they see the surgeries i have had i think they understand better my situation.
the bow i shoot now weighs right at 2.3lbs the metal bow i had was a cast magnesium warf i had put together and it was over 6lbs with all the goodies i added to it. way out of league for being able to hold the bow up and draw consistantly. if your healthy then your fine. if your in a spot like me then i would look for a lighter bow. just my opinion
