I was checking brace tonight and saw I need to add a few twist. When I took the string off I noticed some fraying and looked closer to see that the whole bundle of purple is cut.
I checked the grooves and noticed no sharp edges. I'm hoping that its just a fluke and maybe I hit a sharp edge somewhere while shooting. String is only two weeks old.

Yikes!
Wow thats odd
im voting for just a fluke! wierd, but caught in time so no damage done. I dont think its anything on your bow as it would of frayed more and took longer. id just put a new string on and call her good. check it after a while to be sure but i bet no problems anymore.
Yes I put a new string on her. Will get this one shot in tomorrow morning when I get off of work.
Glad you found it before it went BOING. Looks like a clean cut. I think you must of hit something.
Check your string groove for sharp areas just to be sure.
I had a bow do that and there was a tiny rough spot in the string grove you could feel it with your finger nail . A couple swips with some 220 grit sand paper and its never happened again .
Interesting....glad you caught it when you did that could have messed the opener up!! Good Luck Friday
:archer:
What bow were you shooting?
I have found there are a few bow makers who sometimes do not make their string grooves properly and leave sharp edges which causes string to break.
It's a hoyt buffalo.
When I went and shot this morning it started to cut the string again. I went home and hit the groove with some fine grit sandpaper.
