greetings, everyone. my name's daniel and i've just joined. i have a very beautiful recurve that was gifted to me. it was made sometime in the late 70s and the laminate and glues are all going. it's a single piece of wood with a large riser of a darker wood glued on, and the riser has separated. there doesn't seem to be any damage other than that, and the whole thing needs to be sanded and relaquered, so i feel like any competant bowmaker could repair it. ihave the basic woodworking skills, but i would feel more comfortable with someone experienced doing it. does anyone know of someon in washington state, preferably in the seattle area? thanks.
Welcome!!!!
Don't know about Seattle, but it would be worth your while to pay a visit to Ted Fry, Raptor Archery, in Hood River, Oregon, if you ever get the chance. I think Ted knows as much or more about classic bows as anyone in the Northwest.
Is bow doc no more?
Call or email me. 509-670-1770. edgewise1@frontier.com

You might give Jay St. Charles a call. His website is www.selfbow.com (http://www.selfbow.com,) you can find his email address on the website. His shop is in Fall City, WA.
I took one of his bow building classes and found him to be a very helpful and talented bow builder.
