I haven't used a bow quiver in many years. I am looking for a recommendation for a quiet lite 4 arrow recurve bow quiver.
Any suggestions from experience with them would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gil
EFA- Eagle Flight Archery
I have the Kanati pro... it's quiet, light and holds 4 arrows.

EFA
Another vote for EFA
EFA, you won't even know you have a quiver strapped on your bow.

I have EFAs, Kanatis, and just added a Big Jim. I can say good things about all of them.
The Big Jim is really slick the way it goes on and off quick and is rock solid and light.
The EFA is the lightest. I really like it on recurves.
The Kanati is rock solid and the craftsmanship is outstanding.
Take a look at all three before deciding.
X2 on the Big Jim's
Thanks I will look at all three. I have a old Bear I intend to do some hunting with this year. I was trying to get a Bear leather top 4 arrow spring arm quiver for it. This old bear is strictly hunting, so I am going to spring for one of the three mentioned.
I was just concerned with it rattling around or coming loose, but it sounds like all three are rock solid.
Thanks for the advice.

Thunderhorn makes a nice two piece, bolt-on color matched model if your Bear has the side inserts. I've got one on my TD. Looks sharp, doesn't move. Probably not the lightest model, but least as light as the Kanati.
I also like my Big Jim's. Light as a feather, wiggles, but doesn't come loose.
I've never seen the EFA. Heard good things about them.

I use a Thunderhorn Small Fry on all my recurves. It holds 4 arrows and can be ordered with different attachment systems. You can order strap-on, the two point bolt system, which utilizes the limb bolts or a bolt on, when you have quiver inserts. Great craftsmanship and a joy to use. What I like is that all the small parts are separately available, if something gets lost or damaged.
And the people from TH do a fantastic job, can make the colors like you want them ( mail them a pic from your bow and you'll be amazed) and are a pleasure to do business with!
The only two I've tried were one from Alaska Bowhunting Co. and the Eagles Flight Archery. The ABC one had rubber straps and one of them broke in no time at all (maybe I did something wrong? :dunno: ). I really like the EFA one, though. The velcro straps stay where ya put 'em, without any sliding or slipping or any problems at all, so far (about 2 years now). Not too fancy, but not by any means unattractive. And you can easily move it from one bow to another without the bow needing to be unstrung. I'm happy with my EFA & will probably get another for for my other bows.
I love my EFA mantis. Works awesome for my two blades.
EFA...Nuff Said! :D
Thunderborn Boa small fry for me. Light, attractive, solid on the bow. I even put a five arrow gripper on mine and it works great
EFA for sure. Don and Karen are great people.
I'm going to the woods this year with the Kanati pro model (10-24 inserts)side mount. It holds 4, solid, light and looks good on my new bocote Tall Tines. I've used numerous bow quivers since the 60s and each one was better than its predecessor. I do believe I've found the "perfect mouse trap" with this one.
I don't always use a bow quiver, but when I do it's one of my two Thunderhorns. Tight and quiet.
Tsalt, that quiver really needs to be moved down a lot closer onto the fade out on that limb. Man that has to be affecting your limb.
EFA
EFA
I do like my EFA :)
EFA
I use an EFA or Selway. Hood on the Selway is a little larger, but sometimes that's needed for larger broadheads. I don't particularly care for the semi-circle arrow gripper on the EFA so when I use one of those, I replace the gripper with the straight set back Selway gripper.
if you ever plan on removing the quiver from your bow in the woods don't buy anything with Velcro used on the strap that attaches it to your bow,, Big Jims or GN styles with the rubber straps is what you want..
personally I like GN because if I do take it off it will always stay straight because the top and bottom quiver sections are connected with a bar, others if I have one arrow left and it flops around also if you shoot ALL your arrows the 2 section quivers can still flop around on the bow because the arrows where helping in securing both sections.
finally the selway style keeps the fletch fanned apart but the last arrow's fletch can scrape against your leg which has happened to me and spooked deer, I prefer the GN style because the fletch is tight together in a bunch.
so far its still the GN strap on!
sorry dbl post
oops
My vote goes for the Kanati Pro strap-on.
I have tried most of the ones mentioned: EFA, Great Northern, Big Jim, Selway, and Kanati. They're all really great quivers. But, It's the Kanati I like the most. It doesn't move at all and it holds my arrows like glue.
EFA
I like my Kanati.
Gill, you can't go wrong with a Kanati, I have the pro strap on and love it. John also has a lot of different styles to choose from, and is very helpfull.
EFA quivers are great. If feather clearance might be an issue, they have a slightly bigger arrow holder that spreads the arrows/feathers out a little more.
For all you guys saying EFA, how tight do they stay on the bow?
"How tight do they stay on the bow"
Tighter than an extra small pair of panty hose on a plus size model
Get the idea?
Haven't ordered it yet but I will soon be ordering an EFA.
I haven't had my EFA move at all, and I often shoot all 4 arrows during practice.
Thanks for all the advice. I think I will have to try one of each. More toys, it seems quivers are going to wind up like bows did for a while, buy and try!
Thanks again.

I love my EFA quivers. One tip to keep any strap on quiver from any slippage is to put a small strip of double sided foam tap on the inside of the clamp area & limb. None of them will slip then! tippit
Thunderhorn mini boa that I use is easy to install, adjust and actually seems to quiet my T/D bows even more. Well built and nice to look at too.
Gil,

If you are used to a bare bow, I really like the GN sidekick (replaced the leather strap with climbing cord) makes it adjustable by just pulling on jam knots. The cord slides easily from back to under arm and very light with 5 arrows. Dang another short arrow in my quiver something must have gotten in the way :saywhat:

I agree completely with Dimondback...bow quivers quite my bows too!!
PS: Brian, I was in Aiken over Labor Day to mow fields. Just a short visit but I'll be back to hunt & fish late fall & winter. Got a few good leads.

Which EFA model would work best on a Widow PSA?
I recently purchased a Thunderhorn Mini Boa from 3Rivers for my Kodiak Hunter.....NO problems what so ever......really like it.
I just got a new EFA in the mail today, black 4 arrow with rattlesnake It is perfect on my New belly mount static recurve with zebra and shedua. Just the right size and a perfect quiver of excellent construction and quality. Deivery time was three days from the time I ordered it.
God bless, Steve
Just got an EFA Cherokee myself. Really like it so far. Very light, but helps me get the slight cant I like and the little extra weight seems to have made me a touch more accurate.
