I grew my beard 25 (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/th_bf4913c8-3f80-4129-b86b-9352ead98fa7_zps35c14379.jpg) (http://s441.photobucket.com/user/bloodtrailer7/media/bf4913c8-3f80-4129-b86b-9352ead98fa7_zps35c14379.jpg.html) :bigsmyl: years ago for camo(brown) :help: , do I/you camo the beard(and how) or wait till snow hunting (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/th_98a67fe8-6afb-4c41-acd3-5695ac6f14a6_zps30b9ad35.jpg) (http://s441.photobucket.com/user/bloodtrailer7/media/98a67fe8-6afb-4c41-acd3-5695ac6f14a6_zps30b9ad35.jpg.html) .

Not 50 yet but plenty ....well mostly white :( No camo
-
no.
-
I did before, a few times. It really isn't worth it though. Deer have white on them and we still can't see them in time.

There's shrubbery that looks like my beard, isn't there? I purposely grew it that way because it looks like a sage bush I saw one time. A stripe of black across the nose and I should be good to go!

-
Mine's white. I figure I look like a really wide bush growing behind a white birch.
-
Bahahahaha :biglaugh: I the air force wont let me have a beard but try sticken leaves and grass in it like military snipers do to the ghilie suits.
-
I'm 45 and the goatee is finally PREDOMINANTLY grey. There is no way I would color it... A couple of stripes of black war paint across the cheeks and forehead and I'm ready for hunting! Besides, the Bible (Proverbs) says that hoary hair (grey/white) is a blessed thing... No sense in hiding what's natural and a blessing from God!

sometimes folks find things to worry about...that really arent something that matters...IMHO..
there is a whole culture out there that thinks we need camo everything...I think it has more to do with selling this years newest camo pattern than anything else...those outdoor shows are getting out of control...too many uncle bubbas for me...
of course there are silly things you could wear...but I have killed plenty of big game with my recurve wearing my blue jeans and a flannel shirt...
I did "black out " my eyes ...and even wear a head net a few times when I couldnt get my stand up over 12 feet...
picking the wind and stand...sitting still...and taking that first shot are still the bowhunters best friend...
-
Not much white yet. I'm 54 and the head is getting quite grey, but the beard is still predominately dark. Copper defficientcy causes grey hair.
I consider it the Grey fox look. ;)

that's a good one Bladepeek :saywhat:
-
Im not fifty till next year, but I may have quit growing one cause it's getting so white!
-
Most are not that white. I don't think it is a problem unless you have a big old white St. Nick one. Then you better stay out of the woods in gun season.
-
for turkey I wear a face mask. for deer I do not.
-
I don't think Ron La Clair, camos his beard.

EXACTLY what came to my mind! ;)
-
Mine has been said to look like a heavy frost on a cow turd. It's been thru an awful lot without having to put up with camo on it.
-
all depend on the bird i'll be hunting :)
-
My is white also, I always where a face mask.
-
I had a full beard for over 30 years but at 54 it turned all white, made me look 100. So for the first time in many a day it was cut off.
Now at 71 still have a clean face. Do use the camo makeup when hunting. any tips for easy way to get the make up off.....
Plus for some reason my wife was thank full when I cut the beard off.
-
I shaved mine off once it got gray.

I hadn't thought much about it until now.
Should I add some charcoal dust?...lol

I'm only 28 but my beard is very white, blond, and shiny. I rub some face paint in mine just to cut the shine. You guys might get away with it in deer season but I'd do something about for turkey season.
-
I earned all the gray hairs on my head and face; not gonna change them, and the critters don't seem to notice.
-
I wonder what this gent does?... or his brother.

Whatever they do, it seems to work for them.

I am fond of face masks so the beard is a non issue for me.

I am 39 and my beard is prodominately white! The deer don't seem to care and like Jmatt, I wear a face mask when I hunt gobblers. Black bears don't seem to mind either.
-
no.
ever notice the gray and white spots on trees?
that's why I hunt on the ground; I now blend in.
-
Of course!
Killdeer
-
I use camo Grecian Formula
-
With the red suit and sleigh I don't think it's an issue.
-
Thomas please forgive me but all this time till today I actually thought you were the other fella in your Avatar pic and I was wondering I don't remember seeing that fella with a beard... :dunno: As I look in the Avatar now I see you are the fella in the background...Please forgive me I never saw pics of you till now...
-
I hunt with a ILF riser that is Black/
White and skull pattern, so I would never worry about it! Shawn
-
I am 57 with a white beard.Dont worry about it as I shot a doe a few years ago at 5 yards while ground hunting.
-
Took 60 years to turn grey. Now 70 so I"ll probably take it with me!p
-
Turned 56 today. Don't think the beard is any more noticeable than the bare face, might even break up the profile more.

Hell, Im 53 and most 16 y/o's can grow more beard than me. Part of my Cherokee heritage i've been told. Mask for turkey, nothing for deer

My Avatar pic is :wavey: me, helping a Wounded Warrior, who is learning to shoot  (the target: spinning turkey heads). Helping him forget that he was hurt :archer: have!! Killy, Was it Barnum and Bailey, I knew I knew you from some where! :biglaugh:
-
My beard is white and I only camo it for my wife every now and then.....

YES: I'm pushing 60, have a white beard, and find rubbing some dark camo grease on my beard/mustache or wearing a mask is a MUST. This became super evident when I was busted by a lead cow two years ago: I was well camouflaged, well hidden in my ground blind, and had the wind in my favor. Yet, after approaching to 20 yards (with a string of two dozen cows, calves, and bulls behind her) she was totally spooked by my white chin, stomped her feet, barked an alarm, and led the whole troop 100 yards around me.
For deer, I don't think it much matters. But elk on public land in Montana have a PhD in avoiding death.
-
Thomas,
That's an Awesome thing to do and I appreciate all our warriors! :clapper:
-
I am very proud of the gray, worked hard to get it thanks to raising a family. No I do not camo it.
It is useful for cutting down on the glare from uncovered skin.
-
Some times have a mask on But sometime you don't have time to get any camo on. Mines camo gray now.

Just let some T'backy juice drip through it and you should be fine.
I don't camo mine (don't chew either)
-
With my significant ninja skills, it just wouldn't be sporting if I colored a beard. :bigsmyl:
-
Now I have two things to worry about drawing attention to me.
As of today I now ear glasses.
The new look.

I sometimes pull a face mask down but often not. There are lots of light colors in the sky, leaf and bark reflections, etc. that I think I blend in just fine.
-
There is a guy in CA who combs his white chest hair out of his shirts-he looks like he has a fur collar-and he does not dye it!
Me, no at 65 I have a little red left in it, but shave it off!
-
Should you ever hunt in Colorado, you could pretend you're an Aspen tree!
-
Man, you guys look COOL with them gnarly beards, salty like. Makes me wanna go out and buy a glue on at Spencers Gifts.

This year I'll hunt without a grey/white beard or mustache. I'll use burnt cork or a silk face mask...
-
Nope, only use camo on my nose, ears, under my eyes and the back of my hands.
-
My buddy refuses to hide his long white beard. He claims it attracts bucks by making his head look look like a does butt.

Grey is one of the better tones for hunting (http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/pukingguts/P1030942_zps56ec4e40.jpg) (http://s688.photobucket.com/user/pukingguts/media/P1030942_zps56ec4e40.jpg.html)
