Title: Bear takedown "A" or "B"
Post by: flyfish1 on August 27, 2013, 04:17:00 PM
Gang, I would appreciate any feedback on the current Bear td bows regarding grip differences and shooting from anyone who has shot one or other or both. I draw 29" and am considering a 60" bow. Thanks

I currently shoot one of the new Bear TDs;  B riser w/ #3 limbs for a 64" bow.   In the past I have owned an A riser (magnesium) that I shot with #3 limbs also (a 60" bow).   I draw 30.5" and much prefer the longer bow-to me it just feels better and I think I shoot it more accurately.  The grips on both bows seemed comparable despite their age and construction material.   I found both comfortable and I didn't have any complaints with either.   If I had to go with a 60" bow I would probably choose the A riser with longer limbs-to me this combination seemed smoother than the B riser with #1 limbs.

I'm also a fan of the A riser with #3 limbs making a 60".  BUT, with that combo, 60" is as long as you can get, however, your 29" will be good.

The man himself preferred the B riser and #1 limbs for his 60" bow.

Did Fred make the wrong choice?  :knothead:

I draw 29 and have an A handle with the old #2 limbs.  Those make for a 58" bow.  I can pull that bow to 30" and it's as comfortable as can be.

You won't have any issues with a 60" bow.
