Title: Easy Question on a Red Wing Hunter
Post by: D.J. Carr on August 27, 2013, 10:15:00 AM
I just strung an old Red Wing Hunter.  There are 3 inserts on the face of the bow, 1 for a stabilizer I assume? and the other 2 are placed where a limb bolt would be on a TD.  1. Is there any reason I can't use these inserts for a bolt on quiver? is that what they are there for? and 2. Any idea on the threading? I tried a stabilizer which is standard 5/16th and that a litte big.

The holes on the limb backs toward either end of the riser were for Wing's bow quiver.  Others will work, of course.  Don't know the thread size.

Yup they are for a quiver, I have an old Allen quiver that fits my Wing perfectly. Shawn

Try a 1/4" x 20 TPI, or better, PM Shawn what his thread is?

You can still find the quivers for the Red Wings on flea bay. A buddy of mine picked one up for a few dollars fixed it up and it looks great on the bow.
