Ok guys here's the skinny on The first annual Michigan Trad Gang Bowcamp!
Date: October 12th - 14th.
Where: Tomahawk Lake State Forest Camp ground. See attached map, Tomahawk Lake Highway is about 15 miles north of Atlanta Michigan off of Highway 33. The camp grounds are at the intersection Tomahawk Lake Highway and Shoe-Pack Lack road!
The cost to camp is $15.00 per night per camp site. I believe there are 25 camp sites however you can get a couple units in most of the spots.
There are several spots large enough to accomadate motor homes or trailers up to 40ft.
Hunting: You can walk right out of camp and start hunting or take your vehicle to hundreds of acres of awesome state land. There are also hundreds of miles of ORV trails you can take to get to the even more remote spots.
There will be a limited number of doe tags for this area after September 26th. All deer taken in this area should be checked in at the DNR station in Atlanta.
As for meals I figure each man for himself and when we all get up there and if we want to have a big cook out Saturday night we can plan it after the hunt Friday night.
If you have any further question just drop me a PM or email.
So who all is in! Starting with Jennifer and myself we are in :D !

People have told me for years you can't eat deer tracks but I am telling you put them in a chocalte dipped waffle cone you just can't beat em :biglaugh:
Looks like a fun hunt. Wish my schedule wasn't so full already.
I know what you mean Chad, I hope to make the Indiana Trad Gang hunt this year as well. Next year I hope to hook up with the Georgia and Texas boys, this group hunt stuff has kind of rekindle the fire in these ole bones ;)
Jeff
My bowhunting spirit is as strong as ever but health problems has weaken my body but these group hunts feed my soul, just being around other trad bowhunter who loves our sport as much as I do keeps me going.
All I can say to that is Amen and Amen :campfire:
I'm there without a doubt!
Would someone split a camp site with me?
I would come up after work friday and stay till sunday,,Bringin my bronco II,,golfcart,,canoe if we can use it,,Huntin arrows and my bow,,
Just lookin at that map I see some nice funnels for sure
I am sure you will get someone to split a campsite with you, and the canoe is an excellent choice!
I snore only just a very little bit every once in awhile Jason. I'm planning on bringing one of my big tents, and cook camp gear. And I will share a camp site with you, granted ya can put up with me :D
Brent
If you dont mind snoring.Jason would make a great camp partner.Within a second of falling asleep. The chainsaw will start revving up real good.It tapers off though eventually.Thank God LOL.

I've looked forward to this hunt for awhile, but I just found out a family commitment will be keeping me from attending that weekend...maybe next year. I know you guys will have a great time. Best of luck filling your tags! :archer:
Take care,
Paul
Just an FYI - Left over Turkey tags went on sale yesterday and there are plenty of turkeys in the area we are in!

Hey Jimbo!
Save me an elk as I plan on going next year! I am really looking forward to this hunt in Atlanta as I seen several nice little bucks and there is just something about hunting in the same woods where you might get a glimpse at an elk or two!
