I got my bow at Cloverdale. Scott Mitchell of Bloomington IN made it. Falcon is the model. 44#@28. I'm saving up for a quiver ;)

Sorry, I forgot to resize....
Yep. Hadvone made by a small bowyer on here, Trux turning.vnot sure how many bows he really likes to make for sale each year but he was gracious enoughvto fullfil one of my dreams. After seeing a herters 46, i had to have one but didnt trust buying such a radical bow that was 50 years old. Fortunately, his Snub Nose fit the bill and he nailed it. Came out at 50@27 and absolutely beautiful. It will spend plenty of time in the tree with me this year. It can be seen on the bow swap thread on pages 183 and 184

I ordered a Palmer Classic after shooting one at the Zalamazoo Expo. The Palmers are great to deal with and Mike built me a beautiful bow that is smooth and fast. Mine is 54lb at my 30" draw, 64" long. Love it!!!!
I bought a set of ILF Dryad ACS RC limbs on classifieds, liked them so much when Mike came to CTAS shoot here in Colorado, I took my wife up there to have her test shoot a few, she came home with a 62" ACS RC boltdown model, it's 42# at 28", she pulls about 29" when she's hitting her stride, she's getting 170fps with a 517gr arrow. That was a gain of 10fps with probably 4lbs less draw weight at her draw length. She is very happy with it, she kept saying that she didn't want another bow, she has a Beautiful Rampart bow that shot really well and she was bound and determined to shoot an elk with it before she would even think about getting a different bow, then she shot the Dryad and changed her mind. She's not getting rid of the Rampart, it's a good backup for her, but she hasn't shot it since!
I recently received a new Rose Oak, Pierce Point, Special Edition 1pc recurve by Brandon Stahl.
The bow is everything I expected and more.
If I were to order another 1 pc recurve, it would be from Brandon. He built exactly what I wanted and delivered it on time....63" long, 50#'s @28".
Finest craftsmanship I've ever seen.
Just picked up a new Chad Holm made r/d longbow because it was a better weight for me than the Holm Made bow I traded off to buy this one.
Now if you had asked about "new to me" bows, you would probably have to say "in the last month" :)
I got a new Kanati that is just awesome!! 58" amo, 61#@28". I wanted it because of the grip and the limb profile. Jason nailed it with weight that I asked for and I am extremely pleased with it. Yes I will buy another from him. You always need a backup, don't you??
:banghead:
I'll try the image later.....
Got my hoyt excel riser and 45# carbon bmax limbs. Ugly but dang it shoots! I can hit a tennis ball at 30+ yards with a reasonable number of attempts. For some reason, ILF metal risers work for me. A pretty good $350 investment brand spankin' new!
Howard Hill Big 5. 68", 42# @ 27". Getting a mind set to stick with my two Hills for the remainder of my hunting career. Been through a lot of different style of bows/bowyers and keep coming back to Hills.

I picked up a Wes Wallace Royal, this year. Its 66in. 50lbs@28in. locater grip. Very smooth drawing, hits pretty hard for the poundage. One of the nicest longbows I've ever shot. Its easy on the eyes too! Very happy with it.
Well I'll just count 'brand new' here.
That would be my Robertson Fatal Styk 62" 50@28 3pc recurve. Bought due to a hearty endorsement by an archery buddy and due to reputation. The bow is gorgeous and the best performing recurve I've tried.
Second, my soon to be delivered new set of Leon Stewart Slammer t/d limbs. They make a 68" bow on my riser and are 55@29. My Slammer is my no.1 and one of the finest bows made. I'd sell everything else before I parted with my Slammer.
Made a good trade with a buddy for a year old Wes Wallace Mentor 60" 47# for a rifle I wasn't using much. He's happy, I'm happy.
Also bought used a Black Bear warf riser and 35# TT Black Max limbs used. I'm not using this bow as much as I thought but my 13 yo grandson latched onto it so I have to keep it for a while.
I wont give up my cv17 either. just trying to pick out a back up, that doesn't lode up at 30" draw around 50#.
Wes Wallace mentor 66" 47# at 30 1/2" Cocobolo riser, Yew limbs with antler tips. I ask for a little palm swell into the grip area, Wes delivered, it fits my hand to a tee. Very Happy with my new bow and yes I would order another from Wes in a heart beat.

Toelke Whip - wanted something other than another recureve and heard great things about them. Have to say they earned all the praise, this is one smooth fun bow to shoot may have spoiled me since I have not picked up any of my other bows.
I bought a new Abbott longbow. 47# @ 27", 66". Cocobolo riser and yew limbs.
VERY happy with it!
Not new but new to me. HH Big 5 74# @ 31" great smooth quiet bow I wanted a higher poundage long bow to shoot with the dream of working up in poundage.

Yep.
2 Shrew takedowns - 50 & 53# 56 & 52" - Tradgang classifieds
1 Griffin Gnat takedown - 50# @ 27"
1 Griffin dipped and painted. Bought it, Stripped it and refinished it. Now for sale to a friend of mine.
Bob Lee Ultimate, and have a Blacktail Snakebit and Sasquatch SS coming, snakebit should be here within a couple weeks, ss about a month
Only one new bow this year. A TT Titan II in January. It is 58" and 49.5# at the setting I'm using at my 26" draw length.
I love it and when the TT Titan III is available in September I'll get it too.
I've shown great restraint this year. In each of the past 3 years I've probably bought, kept, sold, or traded more than 10 bows.
I like a LH Groves on the big auction site and a Widow (Tulip wood) will sell there soon as well. I didn't bite.
I ordered a Stalker Stickbow. It is an incredible shooter and the craftsmanship is flawless. 44lbs@28"
pistol grip take down R/D longbow. I couldn't ask for anything more. I can't to get in a tree with it.
I bought a Caribow Tuktu EX from Abe. Great shooter and I have a set of Hex-6's coming soon for my Belcher riser. I like the static tip very much as of late. Restraint, when I first joined this site, 10 years ago I bought and traded like crazy in 7 years I owned over 110 different custom bows, I mean just about everyone out there and several of the same. Shawn
I got a black widow PLX a couple years ago and can't be happier.
I love the BW, but I really wanted something a little more traditional looking, and longer. I realized after looking on this forum, that I wanted a Hill. So I called Craig and Jason of Howard Hill Archery directly, and hashed out what they thought I would be most happy with. I went with a Cheetah, at 68" 58lbs at 28". I had them put a slight locator grip on it. I'm very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this bow. Its an exceptional shooter, and loves heritage 250's with 200gr points.
Throughout the process of having the bow built, I called several times to 'tweak' a few minor details like where I wanted the writing to be on the bow and string material ect. Every time I called I got exceptional friendly service. I would definitely order from them again.
Here are a few pics.

So many good choices out there. Also, +1 for the Wes Wallace Royal, my buddy just got one and it is a thing of beauty as well.

I got a 64" Big Jim Buffalo back in April. I really like it a lot.
just received a new kanati 60in 46lb and it shoots great. i have shot a lot of bows and i shoot the kanati the best
Last fall I switched to lefty. No more righty at all for this puppy. I chose an RER recurve bow, for lots of reasons, and I am completely happy with it, including performance, looks and customer service. In fact, I already ordered (and received) a set of longbow limbs. I am already shooting better and much more consistently lefty than I EVER did righty.
I have to take a photo so it will be posted later.

Scott
Yep I got a new Centaur about a month ago.
I just made a great buy on the classifieds for a Zipper SXT with long bow limbs.
Back in June made another good deal on a Hoot's long bow.
Also have a Kanati on order that I asked Jason to put on hold for awhile.
The more I hear you guys with the Kanati's talking I may have to get that back in the works!!!! :help: :help: :help: :help:
i got my new RER Retro about a month ago, and i love it. 58", 53#@28". beautiful, quiet as a mouse, and hits like a freight train. i'm shooting a 640 grain arrow, with 275 grains up front. i cannot wait to hunt with this bow. gonna smoke whatever it hits. there's a thread somewhere back with pics.

Got a 70's Bear Grizzly, 58", 50# @ 28" I shoot 26". Got it off another site. Great deal, love it! Always wanted a Bear, oldest brother had one in the early 70's and after he passed, in 74, another brother acquired it. Just put on a Thunderhorn Quiver. I would by another from this seller. See if I can add a pic. I've bought/sold/and traded a lot of bows over the years... I truthfully don't remember how many, but in the last year...
Received my Big Jim Thunderchild, Black & White Ebony with Buff tips and overlays. 2-piece, 56", and 70# @ 29". Ordered it after buying and trading for 7 or 8 used ones...
Also received a Jim Reynolds Thunderstick MOAB, 60", 71# @ 29"... Zircote riser with Osage flare and Quilted Maple veneers... I've had several used ones over the years and this is the third one I've gotten new from Jim...
Also, received a riser for an extra set of Kwyk Styk limbs I had bought a couple of years ago... Cocobolo Dymondwood, 56", 70# @ 29"...
All 3 Bowyers are top notch, and I couldn't be happier with any of the bows. I still look in the classifieds quite often, but don't buy, sell, or trade as I've got plenty of bows that "fit" me already.
bought a Wes Wallace Mentor last year. Have a Fox High Sierra coming by the end of this month
Not much for buying new bows but could not pass up the deal on the first ever Chek-Mate Hunter III...60 inch AMO and 51 pounds at 28 inches...yew limbs...bubinga, rosewood and maple riser...for 600 bucks I think it is the best buy in a takedown out there...I have bought 4 other bows as well in 2013...this is a great time to buy some amazing used bows
DDave
The Kanati with the brown handle, in Jason's "New Gordons Brown Glass" thread, should be heading to Georgia this week.
Plain simple hunting bow...just the way I like em.
Picked up a Really nice 2 piece Buffalo Bow a few months ago as well as a Thunderhorn that was advertised as a Heartstopper but ended up being a Coup Stick...no big deal, pretty much the same bow without as much pretty stuff. Both of them are excellent bows! Really love shooting both of them. Buffalo Bow is 55#... Coup Stick is 58#. Buff will be going to the woods with me this year....working on trying to get arrows dialed in for it now!!
Both purchased from Trad Gang classifieds. Both guys excellent to deal with and both bows were as advertised or better!!!
I always liked the Bear TD and recently got a one in bubinga. Very happy with it, I hope to add a couple more sets of limbs to it. People talk about finding 'THE' bow for them; I believe this is mine.
(http://i40.tinypic.com/29prbt1.jpg)Big Jim Recurve. The specs are 52#@28" and 60" length. The limbs are bocote and the riser is east indian rosewood and bocote. This bow is fast, quiet and very accurate. Without a doubt the best bow that I have owned and that has been a lot of them. Big Jim needs to get these on his website as they are new this year and I guess he hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Hill Country Bobcat
All made to my specs and were a pleasure to deal with the bowyers!!

I got a new Wes Wallace partner takedown recurve a few months ago because I like grey bows and because Wes builds one of the best recurves around.
John
Got a toelke whip from a friend who had bought it new back in the summer, he had a shoulder injury so I felt sorry for him and took it off his hands. The bow is smooth as silk and I absolutely love the grip on it! I've talked with Dan since I purchased it and he was very friendly and helpful! Would definately buy another one!
Got my 2nd kanati longbow. 56" #45@ my 26" draw. got a 2nd since my 1st was so awesome. Those grips are great.
Got a nice Damon Howatt Hunter from Huntmaster70 50@28 I've shot other Hunter bows, but never owned one. I've always thought they are a great bow for the money on the used market and I am not one bit disappointed. This has become my new "go to" bow
My new Big River 59'r just had made by John MacDonald!!!!!!
I saw a bow hanging on the wall at a local restaurant, but all I could tell was that it was a lefty which I am. I asked the owner if I could look at it and he got it down for me. It was a Damon Howatt Hi Speed 45# 58" in pretty nice shape. I bought it and i'll be taking it hunting this fall. I also put some snake skin limbsations on from onestringer.
Bought a Liberty Edge D/R, 60x31, smooth, quick,& quite. Will be my main bow this year. Can't wait till October!
Oooh... Me! Me! Me!

Dryad Orion
42@28
She's a looker and a shooter!
Not this year, but last year I picked up a Kanati and a WhippenStick longbow. These two bows make my fourth custom bow. I would have to say that Jason Kendall and Ken Rohloff are two of the nicest gentlemen I have ever done business with. Jason went above and beyond on my Kanati and it turned out better than I would have ever guessed. It is by far the coolest bow in my stable and possibly the easiest for me to shoot well.
Ken's fit and finish rival every bow I have ever held in my hands. He finished it much quicker than expected, and as a bonus it is the fastest longbow I have ever shot.
I would not hesitate to recommend either of these guys to anyone.
Got one comin in the next few weeks....
A Bama Expedition Hunter reflex/deflex
Hopefully it will be here sooner than later
