Well it was my first time hunting pronghorn from a blind. It reminded me a little of tree stand hunting. I was amazed at how much movement I could get away with. I was also amazed that scent didn't seem to matter much, I had several lopes totally circle me before coming in to the water hole. Some lopes were freaked out by the blind and some could care less (it was up for two weeks prior to the hunt). It was neat being up close and personal to the game. I left the screen out of my blind and had does at 5 yds looking right in at me but not seeing me. Anyway, with temps in the 90s it was like sitting in a sweat lodge for 12 hours a day. On the 5th day it finally paid off. Here are a few pics.

Awesome!!!
Pronghorn is on my to-do list for sure (ever since a buddy of mine cooked up some for me :)
You must have been ROASTING in that blind! Been crazy hot here for the last few, eh?
Heck of an animal, my friend, way to GO!
Congratulations!
I am tempted but wondering about the hot blind as well.
Awesome...
Looks like unit 6. I'm trying for goats the next few days. Thanks for sharing
:clapper: Well done and great pics!
Congratulations, that's a nice pronghorn! What distance was the shot?
God Bless!
Shot was about 22 yds. I am cooking up some blackstrap right now. I went with a couple of other tradgangers, Jimscol who killed a whopper on Saturday and Colotrad who is headed back for a few days in the morning.
WOW! Great pics and a great job on the 'lope. I've always wanted to hunt those.
Beautiful... congrats!
Awesome!!
Congrats!
Good job I really like that sunset picture.
That was actually sunrise on opening morning. This backstrap is awesome.
Looks like a blast!
Way to go Mark!
Great goat and some great photos!
Can't wait for the story in person!

Congratulations, Mark. That's fantastic!!!
I showed this to my daughter and she said "oh yeah, I remember him", from the High Country Shoot.
I've only heard that pronghorn "is absolutely delicious" or "tastes like s*&t". I'm glad to hear yours tastes great.

You worked at it too, day 5 to get it done.
Way to go!
Very nice!
Congrats and nice pics. How far did he go?
Mark,
Congrats on a nice goat ....I haven't hunted Antelope in several years sitting in a blind for 8-10 hours a day in 90+deg heat doesn't appeal to me. But all these Antelope stories are getting me fired up to hunt them again...!
Congrats on a beautiful pronghorn!

NICE!!
way to get it done sir, nice to see pics and post from someonw I know. Good luck with the elk hunting this year. I guess I will not go again this fall no body can or wants to go. Say hello to the cre for me.
Very nice Congrats!
Steve
Well done!
Congratulations, nice pictures too...
Way to go!!! Awesome pics. I have a question though. How do they taste? Never had it.
Will do Roger. The set up was a 54" Shrew CH, 54# @ 28, CX 150 w/50 gr insert and WW broadhead. He went about 60 yds stopped and fell over. I thought I got heart at the shot but didn't, low through both lungs did the trick though. I have heard they taste great and I have heard they are gamey. I had backstrap last night and it was excellent.
Congratulations Mark! Great pictures. Hope to do an antelope hunt next year.
Congrats Mark,
I know it seems like you went to h... when sitting in the blind at 90 degrees but the pay off is sweet. Try soaking a cut in milk for a half hour....the meat gets real nice. Tom
Congrats! Except for sitting in a "sweat lodge", sounds like a great time!
Awesome! Good for you! And great pictures!
I will add my photo from the same hunt. I had a big buck come in with a bunch of does and couldn't get a shot. This buck came in by himself. Jim
