Title: Steep sweep risers on HH bows
Post by: buffalo53 on August 18, 2013, 09:23:00 PM
Hi I had my last HH built with what Jason called a steep sweep profile. The angle from the handle to the belly of the bow is more acute. I think it makes the bow look a bit more like the older Hills. Anyone have this option on their bow? Thanks for your time George Hill

I have a John Schulz and two Miller longbows worth the shorter deeper riser causing those acute sweeps. Nate Steen also makes his bows in this manner.

I agree, males for a very 'classic' looking bow like Howard's!

Yep.  I have a Tembo like that.  Had a few others made that way as well, but have since traded them.  Got a bit too heavy for me.

Buff, can you post some photos of your riser so that we can see exactly what you're talking about.  I think I understand, but I picture would really help.  Thanks.

Almost every bow I own has the steep sweep riser including the JD Berry Vixen.

God bless,Mudd

PS: In my phone conversation with Mr.Berry he stated he tried to keep his bows looking as they did back in the early 50's.
