Well the name may be a little more than Tracy would like but ever since I was a little kid Times with Tracy were always adventures. This year was no exception. He is no doubt a great friend and a one of a kind guy. After talking over the last few weeks I decided I would head down Thursday night and get a little time away from the desk.
Tracy and Seith put blinds up weeks ago for the hunt. Seith is another top notch guy. When arrived on Thursday night I was regaled with the stories of Scott getting his buck and Tracy tacking his with a stone point. This to me was enough to go home on. I enjoy that time very much. The next morning four came early. But we were all up and ready. Scott and I got into our blinds and began the sit.
I am not sure why but everyone I talk to says the pronghorn are bonkers this year. Must be global warming.
Anyway shortly after some bucks left a doe came in and that's what Scott was looking for so I left the bow sit and decided there was to much risk in moving to much so I videoed with my phone and watched as he sent one through the good stuff. After the gathering and pics I was backin the blind. Had a buck come in shortly after and he was so nervous and at 28 yards I decided not to shoot. Another one busted me somehow. I still don't know what happened. I suspected that even though I was in the back of the blind he still could see my face. So using a trick I learned from Charlie Lamb I got out the cork and lighter and eliminated that variable.

From noon until 4:45 was dead though I could see goats all around but nothing coming in. At 4:45 I seen a buck through a small hole surveying the spring. It took 30 minutes but finally he came in with a smaller buck. The little guy was pushing him around trying to get water.

Finally all was still as I made my shot. He moved again but not enough. Turning into me the shot angle was less than perfect but a solid setup made short work of him. After just a short run in a circle he died 40 yards from the blind.

How about we talk about Sponsors on the hunt.
RMSGear are my choice place for all things Traditional Archery. From bowstring to arrow and bits and pieces I buy everything there.
I was hunting with one of our Sponsors. Scott Teschner, and shooting with his tab and his arm gaurd.
Also KUIU wool was my best friend here.
