Anyone have a hunting bow faced with white glass? I love the look of it, especially on hill style bows, but I keep thinking that it would spook game. Anyone hunt with a white glass bow successfully?

Makes little difference if you're in a tree.  Even on the ground, movement is a bigger factor than color.  Could put limb socks/skins on for hunting if the color bothers you.  Lots of other ways to temporarily camo the limbs as well.

I recently saw a white glass bow that the hunter actually had custom made that way...of course he used it to kill a musk-ox

It might not bother the critter, especially in a tree where looking up there are lots of light colors in the sky.

However, it would bother me so I'd cover it. I once hunted a season with a blue bow with chrome parts. I covered every inch of it though.

Dunno, both the 1958 Kodiak and 1962 Grizzly have white glass. Has anyone ever killed a critter with a 1958 Kodiak or a 1962 Grizzly?    ;)

I would cover it myself. Why risk that chance the buck of a lifetime would catch it out of the corner of his eye? Some guys like to tempt fate I guess.

My good buddy Plumber owns one of the most beautiful Rose Oak bows I have ever seen with light gray glass front and back. I would advise him to cover it too.

Everybody wants something different out of life.  Looking at that pic it seems Nate has figured out what he wants.

I would cover it with Limbsations. To much white for down here in the dark woods of the south for deer. Up north in the snow it would be fine.

Blends in great with the Aspens

I've never covered mine nor do I feel the need to start.

It's a naturally occurring color in the woods especially since it seems to absorb some of the surrounding colors.

My 2 cents worth.

Mudd is spot on.  Ever notice what color is on the underside of a buck?  Or down the inside of his legs?  or his throat patch? If he does not move is he easy to spot?

Back in the 70s I built a string follow longbow with the white Gordon glass that had the ribs on the glue side.  I could never tell if it made any difference to the animals, but other hunters did see the white and gave notice.  It bothered me when a fellow with a coyote rifle pointed his gun at me, he used the powerful scope on the rifle to check me out. I really hate having a loaded gun pointed at me.

After reading what pavan wrote that's exactly the reason I wouldn't want white on my bow especially during M/L and rifle seasons. We can hunt with bows during them if we want and I do that frequently.

I use the spandex limb socks on my hunting bows to reduce the glare,deaden the sound of branches hitting bow bow when moving through brush, and to protect it from getting scratched up. Therefore, I am not worried about light colored bows.

I too have used spandex limb covers alot from Alaska bowhunting supply.They work great at camoflaging and to protect the bows finish.

I do use the longbow size even on recurves for a tighter fit.

No one likes having a rifle pointed at them. Last season I made it a point to let a wanna-be trespasser see me (I had a blaze orange cap) sighting him through the zeiss scope on my 30-06. With that Zeiss I could see the sweat on his forehead and the stupid look on his face.
I'd never do that to another law abiding citizen, and also checked the safety 3 or 4 times first, god forbid.
