Practicing at the family beach vacation? Where is the most unlikely place you have been "caught" shooting your bow? (http://i1347.photobucket.com/albums/p714/tas0323/Image_zps1cb3b5ff.jpg)

We got kicked out of a holiday inn once for putting a target under the sink and shooting from the sidewalk outside the room.
Heck, it was raining.
I got "that look" from my wife when I put my bow in the car while packing for our trip to the Grand Canyon a few years ago. I did find a shop in a little town near where we were staying!
Almost every time we talk about a vacation destination I ask, "I wonder if there is an archery shop there?" or "I wonder what kind of animals they have to hunt there?".
I get "that look" A LOT! :goldtooth:
Bisch
behind the truck at church shooting at some walnuts when my niece was baptized. I was also caught that day with a Pennsylvania Game News magazine stuffed inside my hymnal.
Charlie Lamb and I were caught doing some shooting on the Bass Pro parking lot, some of it was with arrows, the rest was just plain Bull!...lol
God bless,Mudd
On the back deck of our Summer house at Hilton Head Island.
Wife was laying out in bikini and I was shooting (she was not in path of arrow flight) over the pool into a block target set up at approx. 18 steps!
She will not let me show pics of her laying out with target in background ;(!
Always thought about it on our annual vacation to Hatteras but have not yet. I must say, those dunes along the beach are perfect for it! I think I'm just going to have to do it next time.
Damn and I am here at myrtle beach and was gonna bring it too!! Wish I would have now I am jealous

Motel room.
Butchie, we are in Avon North Carolina. You don't need a target in this soft sand. just a couple sea shells. Hot as heck today though. I just got in from the beach. No more sun today!
I have trip to Wyoming in Sept for whitetails. Plus also in September I have to take my daughter to the college where she will be playing basketball next year. Along with the usual work load, I want to make sure I get enough practice in. It will come up quick!
This new Black widow will do the trick if I clear my mind and shoot it right. Can't be worried about not having enough practice!
Tedd
Pred80 and Butchie, where are you finding deer in PA to hunt? Our camp is right in 2G, lycoming and Tioga Counties. My god it's been hard to find a deer. I keep trying. It's difficult to be a weekend warrior and go up there and be successful. It is still my favorite place to hunt. Every year I start with renewed enthusiasm. Saw a whopper last year...in bear season!
Tedd
I have some good deer by my house until they become nocturnal but I always been lucky enough to fill the freezer though.. but love Tioga its just gods country
If we are driving, I usually have a bow packed for some practice and fun!
Tedd, I hunt some in Sullivan Co. and the deer are few and far between like most of the northern tier. Way more plentiful down here in the Susquehanna Valley thanks to all the corn and soybeans!

more beach shooting
Well heck ya tedd !! Nice work wish I could join ya
Never go on a road trip of any kind I don't pack the bow and at least a kick target. But you'd be amazed at the folks I've met and been able to shoot with when they see you shooting. Alot of archers out there willing to share a target with a fellow archer.
I know it will never happen again that's for sure but I head home to PA in the morning so I can play catch up I guess :clapper: :archer2:

A distant relative of mine was thrown out of a motel for shooting in the room......with a .44 magnum! :biglaugh:
Lol well there a risk to take!!
Yep sand dunes make a good backstop. BTW, don't forget the bowfishing. Jumping mullets make a worthy target. Trust me you will wear yourself out getting one but it is fun and they are not just for bait. Excellent grilled and smothered in your favorite BBQ sauce.
I often dreamed of the fun you could have at Ocean City MD with a bucket of Thrashers french fries, a longbow, and a dozen flu-flus.
Man, I hate seagulls!

If you have ever been kicked out of a holiday inn for.......u might be a redneck. :biglaugh:
With friends we have a vacation fishing/diving spot in Punta Chivato, Baja Calif. Mex. While practicing there years ago some local military stationed nearby warned us that archery equipment is still considered as weapons in Mexico and need permits. Now I stick with blank bale shooting inside garages while there...Tom
Once in awhile I would go over to the fairgrounds and shoot from the bleachers out onto the field. easy to get elevation and shoot about 30 yards.
Being on the Fair Board had some perks!
Hey Tedd,
Just thinking about you yesterday when I picked up your old Morrison's to shoot...1pc Dakota & Cougar. Do you still wirehaired Dachshunds? tippit
Tippit,
That copperhead cougar was cool. I wish I would have ordered it with longer limbs. It shot nice and was light in the hand. It just got hard on finger pinch for me after a long day of shooting it. Darn.
I'm glad it is working for you.
Yes, I have old Molly. I recall you sent some tick medicine for her. I use the same stuff now all the time purchased locally. She doesn't get to track deer often. But she can do it pretty well when needed.

Tippit,
Carlisle, MA? Is that anywhere near Worcester? My daughter just gave her verbal commitment to play basketball at Holy Cross in Worcester starting in the fall of 2014. I'll have to get hunting spot ideas from you!
