When I walked out the door this morning the cool air that hit my face got me thinking of fall. It's my favorite time of year, I love the colors and the cool bite in the air. The falling leaves and the sound of the wind blowing through the dry corn. I love the smells and the sounds, the harvesting of the crops, and setting in the treestand watching the squirrels doing their own little harvest. It's the time when a heavy coat isn't needed but a sweatshirt or a heavy wool shirt is welcome, It's a very magical and special time of year for me. Dove season starts the first of September here, and that usually helps pass the time till I get to go out with bow in hand, all geared up and ready for the great pursuit of the wonderful whitetails through the magical fall woods!!!
I'm with you, Fall is the best time of year. it's still really hot hear in SC but I'm itching for the cool wind, colors, and every little magical thing that goes with fall. From getting to chase game, to the relaxing campfires with the kids in the evenings.
Our archery deer, elk and antelope are open
Sure, rub it in! Lol. Oct. 1st up here.
Yeah buddy! And just think, this year we've got water! I can't wait to slip into a treestand in the dark...
My favorite time of year also. Our season for archery starts on the 7th of Sept. this year. Its always a hard wait.
A light frost, seeing your breath on a still morning, and a V of geese flying over your favorite deer stand just after sunrise. 37 days, 21 hours to go (Sept 16).
Early goose season starts first week of Sept. though.
We also got a cool front come in last week after having it in the high 90's.........Man oh man that cool weather rushes in that huntin blood.....I can't waint either!!!!!!!!!
Yes sir right there with you can not wait for the season to start. Ia few weeks left Sept 15th here in CT. I am sitting here with my coffee watching Primal Dreams just dreaming about the hunts to come.
Im with ya fellas...can't wait to Sit in the stand. I love the fall...nothing better than being in the woods without chiggers, ticks, Mosquitos, and cobwebs.
It's been a really cool summer here so far..just hope it holds up.
Frost? What's that?
It's the stuff on the mug you took out of the freezer .... :archer:

Just pulled my first card the other day, Juan. Some decent deer in daylight. No records, but definite targets for sure!
I have a maple tree turning colors already and this morning it was 40 degrees here in the Yooper. Don't know if we will get many of our tomatoes this year with this cool weather. Heading west for Elk in early Sept.

I know what you mean brother. I still get as excited as I did when I started bowhunting back when I was a kid.
When fall is approaching, I can barely concentrate on anything else. I guess you could say I am "consumed" with not necessarily bowhunting, but fall in general... a time of year when the heat and humidity diminishes, the air is cool and crisp, and man is rewarded with the fruits of his labor by harvesting crops. Love it!
Going calling in the am. Deer season is open here in places.
Its like a 100 degrees here...Normal day in August. If you aint sweating...you aint hunting . RC
