Swafford Knives has designed a light weight knife for back country hunters. The knife is a semi-skinner design and will be a versatile big game knife. It is intended to be carried in the hunters pack and no belt loop is included on the sheath for weight savings. This also creates a very slim package that takes up minimal space.
My goal was to build a fixed blade knife that would compete weight wise with the folding replaceable blade models other companies offer, while providing a more functional and durable knife. I'm pleased with the outcome.
*3.5 total ounces with sheath!
*D-2 Steel 1/8" thick.
*Checkered spine for added control during use.
*61 Rockwell hardness, cryo treated and triple tempered.
*3.25" cutting edge and 7.750 O.A.L. +/-
*Lanyard hole in handle and multiple rivets in sheath for paracord attachment if desired.
*Green,Khaki, and Orange Kydex sheaths.
In stock and ready to ship. I will be listing the knives I have completed in the sponsors classifieds. Thanks for looking and good hunting!

Great looking and functional knife Shawn! Really like that green sheath too. :D
Great little knife. I'd like that one with or without scales.
Shawn, could you show a closeup of that checkering? That's the first time I've seen that and it looks very nice. Coarse checkering file across the spine and fine file lengthwise?
Ron
Fortunate enough to own several of Shawn's knives and will say no one will be disappointed. This is a fine looking lightweight workhorse for the back country. BTW, Shawn-best of luck with the bulls this fall.
Thanks, guys! Ron, I used a metal checkering file from my gunsmithing days. Not sure of the LPI but you are correct in how it is used and I dress it down a bit along with all edges of the knife so nothing will debark your hand. I positioned the checkering to be in the correct location for the users index finger. The tip of the thumb is located by the forward hole.

And here is exactly the same blade design in full dress. x-fancy Honduran Rosewood scales.
