Like to find some nocks for carbon arrows that don't "snap" on the string...
Lots of stuff out there, maybe one of you folks knows about some, ...?
Do tell... :)
I just use my wife's emery board. Haven't found any that like b-50 that well.
I use a file to smooth mine out
Thanks, guys. Yup, lots of way to play. I have a file I like too, but it thins already thin "ears" on a nock and I have gotten leery of doing that.
Just curious if there is a Carbon-fitting NOCK that doesn't SNAP onto the string... or designed to be a snap fit.
Anybody see any of those?? Trend is to smaller and smaller nocks... :scared:
Doc,
Kustom King and 3 Rivers sell an adapter that glues in the carbon, you glue on any nock you want on the adapter. The last carbons I made I used these and index nocks.
Doc,just pry the throat of the nock open.I used to heat mine till I tried that and it works. You don't have to file or sand.
Yep, use nock adapters and glue on your favorite. I use Bohning classics.
Thanks guys.
Just was curious if there are any nocks made today that fit into carbons that are NOT snap nocks.
It would appear that is not true.
Thanks!
If your using regular carbons and not the axis shafts. Get a 3 d super nock. It has a wider throat and doesn't snap on. I have used them on just about every carbon I have owned I found it to a really good nock and it is my favorite to use if I'm not using my axis shafts
Doc, the nocks that arrow dynamics use are straight and smooth. No snap. At least that's what their tapered shafts use, not sure about their parallels.
Razor,
I've used the Unibushing nocks, but didn't know t he Super nock was not snap...I bet they're TINY?
I'll check them out.
Phoenix,
I'll have to see if I can find their parallel nocks anywhere on line to view... the AD tapered end up with a 1/4" shaft on the push in nock...so that's out.
I use .246 ID shafts.
EASTON 3D NOCKS AS STATED ABOVE WILL WORK ON YOUR ARROWS DOC
Glue on nock adapters here for my GT Trads. Mercury or Nirk nocks.
the 3D super nocks does not use a bushing..slide it in like a uni nock..same diameter but nock opening slightly bigger and a straighter profile and doesn't snap for me..holds on the string and slides nicely

Yup!
Doc,
I'm sending you a p.m about some nocks...
YOu didn't say what brand or type???
I did look up Razor's suggestion... couldn't find anything on "nocks" for the HiPlains AD's.
The 3d Super nocks seem to fit the bill, but appear "small" in pics...have to eyeball them.
trust me the 3D super nocks your gonna love, they aint small.. but aint that big either and make sure it says 3D supernock and not supernock as that is more like a uni nock
The Easton nock is a good one. Very strong, easy to adjust, and very durable. I have never broken an ear off one. With a thicker serving you can open them to fit and they are as close to a friction fit without a snap on I have see for a carbon shaft without an adapter.
Oh, and they are not small. Not as large as a glue one, but larger than a GT or CE standard carbon arrow nock.
Thanks, Guys. One chap I know on here has a few he is sending to check out... but he doesn't know if they're 3D or just "super".
Easton has a maddening way of changing product names mid-stream...
I used to buy/use the Uni Nock and like them. Now they're very scarce, replaced by a half-their-size Super Uni-nock...
I'm anxious to see these you guys speak of.
