I believe i made a boo boo. I have 2 different bows one is about #54, the other is about #64. I thought i could kill two birds with one stone and purchase some 5575's use 6 for my 54(with heavier insert), and use 6 for my 64 with a lighter insert. I am afraid that the 6 for my #64 will be too light of a spine. I already have them cut to pretty much as low as i can cut it(i may have another inch i could cut off, but that would be cutting it very close!) the tear while paper tuning is about 5 inches with nock to the left. Is there any hope, or do i need to try to trade them for some 7595's?
You need to tell us your draw length and the arrow length. The 55/75s(.400 spine) they should easily shoot out of your set-up, I know a lot of folks who are shooting high performance longbows and recurves with riser cut a bit past center and they are shooting in that weight range 60-65#s. Arrows are from 29-30.5"s bop and they are shooting heads that range from 225 up to 275 grains depending on the exact set-up. I am shooting .500s spine shafts out of my 54# high performance recurve drawing 28"s and a 29" shaft with 190 grains up front for perfect flight. Shawn

I am shooting a #64 Hoyt Dorado I draw to 29" and the arrow is 30.5. I sure hope you can help me make this set up work!

I am shooting Ted Nugent 5575 Blemish zebra striped arrows.
Looks like you could go with a 100 gr. insert with 150 gr. heads this should put you in the ballpark of 9 gpp. and at your arrow length shouldn't be too weak. Shawn will perhaps help you as I have found him to offer sound advice on spine.
Possum, when I paper tune it with a standard insert as well as a 125 grain tip, it comes up petty weak with the bare shaft paper tune.
May I ask who Shawn is?
Thank you for your reply, feel free to help anyway you can!

Shawn is Shawn Leonard, who asked you about your draw- and arrow lengths.
He has shot so many combinations of bow/arrows that he gets REAL close to estimating your combo/spine/point wt., if you have decent form/release. He's helped me out a couple times. He'll chime back in later or you can PM him.
Coilspring,
i replied on my phone and i just realized that "shawn" was who replied first. lol.
thanks for you reply, i will be PMing him.

Adjust the freaking strike plate until it fits on the 64# bow....
Heavier inserts are not needed if you fill your shafts with braided polyester rope.....
ok, so i did what shawn told me(get the tip to about 225 grains) I did this and the arrows are coming up even more weak.
Any more suggestions?
