I was considering shooting the SCWA "Big 40" on either Aug. 10 or Aug. 11. Anyone interested in shooting it together? Has anyone shot this event before?
Where is it at ?
ChuckC
Chuck, It's the Monroe club. Outdoor range is up closer to Argyle according to their web site.
I've shot there before, but not that particular shoot. Nice course. Unfortunately, I have another event I need to be at next weekend.
Here is the address. It's in Green Co. WI.
W9408 State Hwy 81
City/State/Zip Argyle, WI 53504
If I didn't have commitment to go camping with my children and the grandkids I'd hook up with you!
One thing about SCWA's 3-D's is that they have all large targets, Deer, Moose, Bear, Caribou, Turkey, Wolf and etc. I never liked shooting at a skunk, coon or etc at 20-30yds like some clubs have them set.
Send beaunaro here on Trad Gang a PM. He is a friend of mine and lives in Monticello, WI and would love to shoot with you if he is free.
Thanks for all the info, Kevin. I'll PM beaunaro. Are the distances at this event very long? I can shoot out to 25 yards, but not much farther.
Kevin,
Have a great time camping with your kids and grandkids!
Dennis
Dennis, most of the shots are 25 and under, but they do tend to be on they longer side and a few like the moose, elk and caribou tend to be 30 - 35yds.
I generally don't shoot over 25 either, and because I don't generally keep score, I just walk up closer and shoot. Have fun!

Kevin,
Thanks for the suggestion to contact Irv. I had a great time with him, Lynn and Bob! Lots of laughs and a great time shooting! Maybe next time you can join us. I hope you had a wonderful time with your children and grandchildren camping.
