Got this picture from my camera this week, not sure why that bear is standing up like that, this camera is watching mineral site we started this year. Looks pretty impressive to me.

This picture was taken a few minutes before, what might it be reaching for? I have a couple of pics of the bear on all fours taken between these 2 photos.

Cool photo!
maybe rubbing head and/or doing territorial marking on that tree, the higher up the bigger the bear.
but just guesses, cool photo.

Looks like he had a little itch!!
Yeah....wouldn't want that one sneaking up on me! Nice pic.
I thought that it was rubbing/scratching its head as well , the next day I went back to this spot and looked on the tree for hair or marks of any kind. Did not find any bear sign on that tree, thought for sure I would find a little hair.
I think he's too far from the tree to scratch. He looks like he spotted something on the ground, maybe a small snake that you can't see.Very neat picture.

Excellent photo. Builds the anticipation, doesn't it?
That looks like a big bear, great picture!
Maybe he had to pee...
Nice looking bear. Wish I caould draw another Maryland tag.
In a slow dance I would let him lead..... lol
"You hoo hoo, I wanna be like you hoo hoo"- Baloo
A bear will stand if something has caught its eye and wants to get a better look at it.

"I'm going to have to get this dang prostrate looked at one of these days..."
Whatever the reason, this picture is a GREAT example of how cool trail cameras are.
Obviously, this bear likes to dance when he is alone.
That's neat. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
I agree with Kirk ! Classic pose for a big boar. Especially after a few beers.
He may have been stretching up to scratch the tree moments ago and is on his way down to all fours at the snap of the camera.
ChuckC
cool!
Check out the other pic
Maybe he just woke up
