Title: Brace height over manufacture recommendation
Post by: dad on July 28, 2013, 04:52:00 PM
Does it hurt your recurve to shoot it over the manufactures recommended brace height? They recommend 7 3/4 and the final tune was 8 3/8. I get good arrow flight and the bow is quiet. Where has at the lower noisy on erratic arrow flight.

I can provide a seemingly qualified answered ,yet may not apply to all bows.

The bowyer for your particular bow should be the most reliable source.

What Friend said but I shoot my Kill-um at 8 1/4" and my Kanati at 8"  1/2" over on both and that's where they (me) shoot best.
Would like to see what Tim  and  Jason would say but have never ask.

Let me see...do you hurt your bow when you bring it to full draw...one trick I learned a while back to move the stack point of any bow back is to brace the bow on the high side...long draw shooters have been doing it for years...the reason bowyers recommend lower brace heights is often to get the most speed out of their bows
