What's the strongest hot melt glue available? I'm putting adapters in glue on broadheads, but want to be able to switch adapter weights in the future.
I found some 3M hotmelt used for hardwood floor repairs, its the strongest I have found..
think its called scotchweld 3762
Best I have used is AMG super 735 I got from Braveheart. Good prep goes a long way though regardless of brand.
That big ole stick Big Jim petals in some tough stuff
Stuff Bug Jim sells works well for me

Me too!
Big jim's hot melt here too.
Ferr-l-tite low temp blue stick. Their newest formula. You can heat the insert only and insert into the carbon shaft. To remove, heat a point and screw it into the insert and is a few seconds the heat transfers to the insert and the glue lets loose.
big jims works for me too
I've used standard ferLtite and it works fine for wood arrows and points . I imagine its be fine for that too. The insert gets forced INTO the broadhead on impact so I wouldn't imagine Maximum strength is critical.
I used that Big Jim's to patch up several holes in a Jon boat.
I use the Kimsha Quick Stick. It's the same one Big Jim sells, but several others sell it, too. I've glued on HUNDREDS of field points and broadheads with it and not a single failure. Clean points and tapers are a must, but that is true with any glue.
The Stanley Gold is the best I have found.
I liked Big Jims as well.Very good stuff and you can get good quantity in the cake shape he sales that will last you along time.
I've been using the new blue stick low temp and have really been pleased with it.

I second this one.... 3M is the strongest IMO
X2 Kimsha Quick-Stick. I have used it for years w/o issue on BH's, field points, adapters and inserts; wood, carbon or aluminum arrows. Soft and gooey, never brittle like the old Ferrule-tite.
Allows you to change-up any arrow setup with a little heat (matches can work for field fixes).
Tip: when removing inserts in carbon arrows (especially HIT series arrows), use the heaviest field point you have (I use 300 grn.), to "heat the mass". Only heat the very end of the point. A heavier point will conduct the heat into the insert more efficiently, thereby softening the glue. Extract with pliers.
Best of luck -
Kris
I used the stick that Big jim sales also, good value in the size he offers.
Thanks everyone!
I ordered some of Big Jim's stuff.
Where do you find the 3m hotweld you guys are refering to ??
I appreciate this thread, also, because my adapters have been pulling out of my carbon express arrows in foam targets.
