Well after two weeks of archery my samick red stag got a stress crack in it, had to return it, so now I'm "bowless". So now I can either wait for a couple month to get the same bow, or I can upgrade and pay the difference, now that I know I like it im willing to spend about 300dollars give or that, what's the best one piece recurve I can get in that price? I'd like it to be new, I have never shot a longbow but I am open to all suggestions. I like one pieces tho, not a takedown guy. Any help would be appreciated!
There isn't much new for that price. You really should consider getting a used bow because you can a lot more bow for your money. Check out the classifieds or RMS gear they have some great deals on good quality used bows in that price range. Look for a used Bear, Damon Howatt, Ben Pearson, or Martin. Also if you can wait a save a bit you could get a new Bear Kodiak or Grizzly for under $400.
For a new bow I would check with Mike at Maddog Traditional Archery. He makes nice bows at very affordable prices.
Michael. Check your messages. I may can help you out.
are you saying that your two options are to get the same bow from that company or they will give you credit towards a different one? No refund option?
i can get a refund, so im just looking for other options, since i have a little more money and experience with bows why not just upgrade haha
So your price range is 300 or 300+refund? The first limits you to low end or used. The second allows for no thrills but quality bows. Check the classifieds and sponsors.
Why are you worried about a used bow? For that price $300-$400 you can get a great bow from the classifieds here. Just keep your eyes on the postings or place a "wanted" post. To be really safe, buy from someone that has been around Trad Gang for a while or ask the seller for a couple references. Good sellers wlll not mind! Many great folks here that will have something that will fit your needs and you will get a lot more bow for your $$$. Ive bought a few and ALL have been outstanding. Trad Gangers always come through in ways you would not expect!! Did you see the recent post for the Firefly bow for sale. That's a great bow and just above your pice range by a little. Post something and see what happens!!! You may be surprised.
Look into the Bear Grizzly. They are just a little over $300.00 and throw an arrow just as good as any bow out there. The bow is only as accurate as the shooter. Good Luck!
Here you go. For sale in the sponsor's classifieds right now.

GrayRhino, that is exactly what I was thinking of.
Mike at Maddog Archery has a very very good reputation here.
what weight bow are you looking for?
The only problem with used is No Warantee No Refund.
For the money you have to spend I would still go with the used higher end bow.
Check out the Two Tracks bow and Wool Co.
I see There is a sale going on now.
That Echo bow looks like a real nice bow and priced right.
George
I had forgotten about Maddog archery! They have some killer bows and well within your price range. They are semi-custom at that. Real sweet shooters! Definitely look into those if you have your heart set on a new bow.
My bow weight I want is 45# I was looking at the bear grizzly but I would like a 60" and I have about 300 to spend because this is my "first" bow. I have a thing with buying used stuff, unless it's from somebody I know I'm real hesitant to buy it. But thanks for all the help so far guys!
Here looks like the perfect bow for you that just showed up in the classifieds.

Like many others on this forum, I have bought several used bows from the classifieds and never had one problem. This allows you to buy and sell bows so that you can figure out what you like and dont like.
