I heard they made a pad that was dirt scented
any experience with these?
Bugs are always bad here until a hard freeze.
My blood is sweet to skeeters!
I have not tried the earth scent, but on a recent Georgia pig hunt, the pigs paid no attention to "therma cell".....if I had not had it with me, with in ten minutes you would have been enemic from all the skeeters and deer flies.......
I don't know how it smells to the deer but to me the earth scent pads STINK!!! I don't mind the regular pads so much. Try a pack and see if you can stand the smell.
Good luck!
Ive killed deer while using a thermocell with the regular pads.
I use one all the time early season and have had no problems. I havent tried the earth scent.
I used the earth scent pads and like them, I ground hunt and always hunt the wind. I had a fox come downwind at 8 yards before he spotted me.
They smell like dirt. I doubt it really matters what they smell like though. If deer are down wind.you're getting busted anyway.

I think the regular pads are chrysanthemum.
Around here the dirt ones are cheaper so I buy them. They don`t seem to bother any critter up wind. down wind it don`t matter they gonna smell U anyway as others have said. Can`t hunt being eat alive by skeeters so I`m gonna have mine cooking.RC
I have heard the bears here are starting to pair the TC scent with human presence, and are getting more cautious but have not heard anything regarding issues with other game. I usually don't use because I don't like breathing in the fumes, I try more to cover-up and bare-it.
