I will be shooting an r/d longbow that pulls 52#'s at my 29" dl. Undecided between 3 bades or 2 blades. I like the 3 blade VPA, but mot sure if I will have enough bow for these to penetrate. If not, will need to go to some kind of 2 blades. I appreciate any help with this.
Thanks
Toby

go with german kinetics 200-220's or werewolfs, or similar.

Toby, this has been thoroughly covered many times. Just a week ago we had the same conversation on Tradgang. Using the search function (found just under the new post button) should yield everything you want to know.
P.S. The VPA should be fine if you get the long version (shallower angle=easier penetration)
P.P.S. A 4 blade such as a Magnus stinger, will yield more than enough penetration on elk.

I'm about the same specs as you, gonna run a 200 gr. Vpa or Tusker Aztec probably have both in the quiver.
-
Get some very sharp ones, sharpen them some more and put them in the vitals.
-
Biathionman, are those 3blads?
-
The VPA's are good heads, solid and tough which is a good thing for elk.You won't have trouble with them on a well tuned arrow of decent weight.
-
Yep, 3 blades.

Toby, shoot what you have confidence in and make sure it's razor sharp and flies true. I'm envious you get to go so good luck and let us know what you decide on!
-
COI fixed blades - razor sharp and nothing less....
Keep the wind in your face!
