Im new to trad archery and just bought my first bow, a Samick Red Stag one piece recurve. I havent even had it for a week yet and I am oving every second, the issue is I think there may be a crack in it, but I cannot tell because I am new. I was so excited to get it that I did not check it well enough, but I am sure I would have noticed this.

Thats the link to the img, if anybody can help it would be much appreciated.
You need to take more photos from different angles. Hard to tell with that straight on photo.
Hmm cant really tell from the pictures. If you run your fingernail across it will it catch?

Here is a couple more photos, and my nail does kind of catch. This bow is only 3 days old, I've shot it every day, but I dont think it should do this, I strng it properly and unstring it when I am not using it.
I'm sure a bowyer will give you a definitive answer, but it doesn't look like a major concern to me, then again it's not my bow!
NBK, that just looks like you scratched it on something to me.It does not follow the grain like a crack would.
I'm picky about my bows condition when I buy a new one. If you bought it from an online dealer I would check to see if they would exchange it (provided you didn't scratch it yourself). If its just cosmetic and you don't mind, no problemo and just keep it. I had a red stag. Great bow. .......And welcome to the addiction. Even if your dirt poor you will find ways to buy new bows.
Thanks guys, loving every second of shooting it and the bow itself, cant wait till i can hit that bullseye over and over.
BellaMorte if it is a concern see about an exchange. In the meantime why don't you show us the rest of that good looking bow.
And if you have not intro'd yourself yet welcome to Tradgang! :archer2:
