Title: Explain powerstroke?
Post by: britt on July 09, 2013, 11:18:00 AM
After taking Rod Jenkins clinic,my draw length has increased from 28in. to 30in. I was shooting a 46# at 28in bow, so 51# at 30in.I have new bow coming thats 45# at 30in. Can someone explain powerstroke? My powerstroke has increased with longer draw? Thanks

The distance the string is drawn from braceheight is your powerstroke.  If the braceheight is 8 inches, for example, you increased your powerstroke from 20 inches to 22 inches by increasing your drawlength.

simply explained the powerstroke if that is what you want to call is the amount of distance the string pushes the arrow. The longer the distance the arrow is propeled by the string the more energy transfer is accomplished.
