I've never asked for an appraisal here, and see nothing that doesn't allow asking. If I'm wrong, apologies and please delete.
I'm seeking approx. value of a LH Howard Hill "Big 5" longbow, 66" 50# @ 28", excellent condition, no extras (such as antler tips, etc). No idea of the age, but it's not vintage.
Any help appreciated! Thnx.
Worthless to me(it's a lefty, :p )
What's the riser wood, glass color and serial number. If it was built by someone other than Craig, that could add to it's value in some guys eyes. It's worth what ever someone is willing to pay. Run of the mill Big 5 for me,maybe $300-325
Again somebody my look at it and HAVE to have it.Buyers market right now as well, some awesome bows going for very cheap prices.
Serial on the riser is BC 686900.
Here are a couple photos:

Thanks!
I wouldn't go less than what Goshawkin said if I was super motivated to sell. More like 350-375 seems reasonable to me on a normal day. The buyers market right now is no joke, we all know it. I mean bows that should be selling in hours are sitting for days, even weeks.
The nice plus is that 5 has some desirable specs, 66" good hunting length, at 50# would be a nice bow for anyone, even someone new to the sport. Would be a plus to know who made it, Craig E. etc? Put a call in?
It's not worth your time. Send to me and I'll test it for a few years and let you know.
:D
Seruiosly, I have a Big Five and love it. Just about that weight range and LH. Mine is all boo lams and myrtle riser with clear glass with a straight grip. I bought my 66"er off Dave Mitchell here on TG. I love the bow. $300-350 is about right. $350 shipped and you should j-u-m-p!!
My only gripe is the straight grip handle needs to be deeper for my big hand. If I remember right it's 2". I have a Carolina Night in the works now with a riser depth of 2 3/16" without leather grip. A leather wrap should make it near 2 1/4" in depth.
Mine is also string follow and with a B55 string is nearly dead silent.
I think this one is definitely Craig's. Mine is also clear glass back & belly. Here are couple more shots:

I may be wrong, but doesn't the "C" in the second digit of the serial number mean that Craig built it. I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
I think so...."B" is Big Five and "C" means built by Craig. At least that's my understanding.
Also the first two digits in the serial number looks like BC 68****,that would be a 68" Hill nock to nock. But like said the used bow market is up and down.Just need to find the right buyer.Nice looking bow,I would be interested but I'm a righty.
Good catch. 68" is correct for length.
I don't remember seeing this on the classifieds ...... :)
This isn't in Classifieds yet--I wanted to get some expert opinions about value first. The HH values are not something I'm confident about. So thanks to all for the range--
