Wow, that's a big hog. Nice tuskers too.
-
WOW! Cody that thing is huge! Sure would make a nice mount. What did it weigh?
-
Man, what a HOG!! Tell him congrats!!
-
He didn't have a scale. Guessed it was around 350#.
-
Man! That is a nice hog.
And your friend looks exactly like a good friend who passed in 1990. His last name wouldn't happen to be Wallingford would it?
-
That's a big boy what a trophy.
-
WOW. Now that's a hog! Congratulations to your friend.

I knew it was a long shot but, Man, when I saw that photo it was like looking directly into the past. Shook me up just a little.

-
Nice Hog !
-
Where is his cape?
He looks like Super Hog.
-
Congrats on a great hog! :notworthy:
If you dont mind my asking, what was your deadly bow, arrow and head combo?
-
Holy, err, PIG! That's a big un! Where was this shot at? The biggest I have seen on the land I hunt is maybe 275#. Should we assume this was slain with one of your bows?
Cheers!
-
Nice job! What a brute!

I don't have all the details as I was not there but....
Private land. 48# bow with a 2 blade broadhead. Hit em' pretty far back in the hams. He gave him about a hour until he followed the blood trail. TONS of blood. The pig ran about 200 yards then bedded down, bled out and died. Ended up that he hit him in the artery.
Wish I had more.

Wow! That's a brute!
-
I'm guessing something like that would taste like shoe leather?
-
I know the second guy! He belongs to Bowhunters Unlimited! Good hunter (obviously)!
-
That's amazing! Any guesstimate at to the weight?
-
350+ starts at the point where you can no longer get your arms around the chest-just as a rough measure; so that first one that Tenbrook posted is over 350 I would estimate.

Those are some monsters!
-
What part of NorCal? It is pretty unusual to see boars that big up here. Central CA produces more big-bodied hogs in my experience. Those are some legitimate monsters!
-
Can't stand it anymore, gotta put my 2 cents in. 150 lbs. tops
-
Biggie , Please send me one of your scales, I would love to lose a few pounds the easy way! lol

HaH! Look at the chest in relation to the 5 gallon bucket. Bout the same.
I don't have majic scales or I'd use em myself 8-)
-
Interesting shadows.

I do agree with you guys that say pictures can be deceiving. And I must admit I was not personally there. But....
My friend that shot this boar is a pretty experienced hunter. I would bet he has been hunting pigs with his bow for nearly 20 years. I only mention this because he would be someone who I think could make an accurate guess on the weight of the hog. He says right around 350# I believe him. Plus to me he looks huge in the pictures.
Anyhow we are not looking to make it into any record books....just thought you might like some cool pictures.
Thanks and happy shooting! :)

Hollister out near Pinnacles National Park.

Some big choppers there.
-
Wish I could find them that big out here in the islands. I'm sure there are some, but the biggest I have seen is maybe 300, with a full belly.
I really need to go pig hunting again.

-

-
Yeah BOY!!!!
-
"WOW"
Looking at your buddies eyes in the pic I don't know which one would scare me more. :scared:
Did he shoot that hog or suck the blood out of it!!!! :biglaugh:
-
Those are a couple of nice Cali hogs! I live in Central California, and I have shot a few nice ones, and have been up close to a few monsters like those pictured.
I recently pulled up to a bait and tackle store close to home, and 2 guys had a hog in the back of a (1/2 ton) Chevy pickup. The only reason I even walked over to see it is because that thing was HUGE. Its nose was touching the front of the bed and it's feet were hanging over the tailgate...which was down.
It was unbelievable....it was taken with a rifle, but none the less, an incredible hog.

Nice hawg either way. I'd agree buddy is standing farther back than the 5 gal pail which is behind pig. My guess 250# on the scale 300-350 when telling the story. Thats okay, dam nice hawg. Hunters and fishermen are known for their story telling abilities. Bottom line is you gotta arrow him to tell the story!
-
NICE!!!
