I really prefer a bow quiver for hunting, but even though I have an assortment of different strap on quivers, nothing seems to work the way I want for my thunderchild. I guess that between the strong deflex coming off of the riser and that the bow is nearly all working limb, I can't get them positioned the way I want and not interfering with my sight picture. I have another bow on order, and I am thinking of getting the big guy to put quiver inserts in the bow. Just not sure if I will get the standard pair at the top of the riser, or get one insert on the top and one on the bottom of the riser, like black widow does. I guess it depends if I want to go with a kwikee quiver or a fred bear type of quiver. I wonder if anyone else has done this. I hate to ruin the aesthetics of the beautiful work the Jim does, but it is a hunting tool, after all.
Your bow. Besides who sees the inserts when the quiver is attached? Selling it, inserts will become an issue to those who do not like them.
I personally use a Simmons tube because no matter what quiver I used on the bow, the arrows toward nock/fletched end would viberate to some extent.
I don't think there is room on the riser of a Thunderchild inserts, but if there is go for it, if that is what you want. let us know what you do.
The space would be tight, but pretty sure you could at least put one at the top and one at the bottom. Obviously would have to speak to the big guy about it.
I've killed a pretty decent number of critters with mine and feel that they make a very nice, versatile hunting bow. I just don't like using a side quiver when I already have a hydration pack on my back.
You want inserts......you should have inserts!
have a look at the strap on bowquivers from marksman bowquivers. they are a modular system. buy one set of brackets then all the different hood sizes will fit them.
worth checking out to see if they are suitable for your needs.
just google marksman quivers
I just got a Thunderchild in a trade and I am using a strap on quiver from Eagles Flight called the Mesa and it works GREAT. Min has both the Totem and the Wing, best bow quiver system I have ever used. Don't put holes in the bow, just strap em on.
pdk25, No, can't put inserts in the TC. I have however designed a deflex bracket for my strap on quivers that you may like.
It is adjustable so that you can position the tail end of the arrows how you like. It also goes on and comes off incredibly quick and to top it off, is super light weight.
We have made some improvements to our quivers over the last year too. They come with new styled grippers and an easier on/off strap that is UV resistant. The bracket can also be retrofit to your existing quiver.
thanks, bigjim
There is a simple answer here...ask Jim...anyone that will sell pink arrows is gonna be easy to talk to

Dave,
I just spit my coffe out reading that comment!!!! Thank you ha
Thanks for the input Jim. I guess I will stick to the side quiver. I have quivers with a set back bracket but in order to strap the quiver onto the fades the straps are in my sight picture. Still love the bow.
