Beth sent me some progress pictures of my new Tip. 58", gaboon ebony riser with B&W ebony flare, B&W ebony limbs with copperheads and smooth sheephorn tips, also sheep horn up the riser.

Best of luck with her Danny! Skins look nicely matched. Can't see riser real well...bacote/ebony???
LOL,Michael, it is in the original post, gaboon ebony with B&W ebony flare. Also 55#@28" and will have an inscription in Honor of my late beloved twin, it was built in his honor. Beth said it should be finished in 5 to 6 days.
Looks sharp. Don't forget to show the finished pic's.
It's going to be a beauty Danny, and a great tribute to your brother!
Looking good, Danny!
Can't wait to see the finished pics.
Bisch
I can't wait to see it completed.
A great tribute to your brother!
Danny you will love that tip they great shooting recurves and very easy on the eyes. Dave is a great bowyer. The tribute to your brother is ever lasting.Congratulations.
Looks good so far!! Can't wait to see finished pics. I thought Dave had a machine that does the checkering. Guess not unless he is just touching up. Are you getting the 15" riser? Any limb overlays? What kind of limb bolts?
I actually have a set of matching limbs for M'Bogo on order 50@28 to go with the 58# limbs.
That is gonna be a beauty...!!
Keith,
Yes it is a 15" riser, no limb overlays,I assume you are asking about the limb butts, small brass antler bolts.
Ron, I love all of my Tips, this will make my fourth on the rack and I have owned several others. I have one 19" riser, two 17" risers and now this one with the 15" riser.
You make me sick ! LOL All the best,no one deserves it more.
I will post some good pictures once she is finished.
LOL, Steve my friend, you crack me up, LOL.
That is going to be one incredible looking bow! Another ebony masterpiece!
Looks good Danny, from what I can see the B+W Ebony looks awesome. Looking forward to the pics.
Got my 1pc LB from Dave a couple of months back, and very happy with it. That makes it the 3rd Tip on my rack.
Cheers Dan
I can't believe he just holds the riser in his hand and does the checkering freehand like that. He gets such intricate lines perfetly laid out. That has to be much harder than he's making it look.
Awesome looking bow so far Danny!! Can't wait to see her when she is finished!!
You truly deserve it Danny! Dave is a true craftsman and his Checkering is 2nd to none! He even does up into the throat of the grip which requires a lot mor cutting and angles. N.B the Silvertip mascot appears to be asleep on the job (Grizz). Lol
Great looking bow Danny! I've never seen anyone "at work" looking more relaxed than Dave Windauer!!!
justin
Just might be your best one yet
Congrats Danny, that is going to be a Looker!!!

Though not quite as relaxed as that old yellow lab! ;)
Are you trying to make Love Potion #9 jealous or what? That is going to be one wonderful bow.
God bless, Steve
It will be a beautiful tribute to your late brother.
For sure it will be a special one.
Congratulations on the new bow. Can wait to see the finished Silvertip. I know I have really enjoyed mine!
A very special bow....
Danny this bow will be special for sure. You have a beautiful collection but this one will be even more special.
Danny; perhaps I should go to Montana and reshape the handle like I did for Felix, what do you think??? LOL. (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x132/recurvehunter_2007/P1050580.jpg) (http://s185.photobucket.com/user/recurvehunter_2007/media/P1050580.jpg.html) :dunno:

Glenn
Very nice :clapper:
There are bows and then there are BOWS! That is certainly the latter.
Not shown in the pictures is the inscription on the belly of the upper limb.
"NAKOHE"
11/03/50-10/11/12
This bow was on order when he passed so I made it a tribute to him. I hope that I can do the bow justice in the hunting fields so that it lives up to his name. It is an honor to name it after him so "NAKOHE" it is and I hope he approves.
Beautiful Bow.....Beautiful Sentiment..
Very nice Danny! Wonderful tribute to your brother.

>>>An honorable and treasured memorial<<<

Hi Danny
why are your bows always so beautiful ?
I wish that Nakohé always give you luck and good hunting....
Great looking bow and a nice tribute to your brother.
Congrats on the new bow. Much more than a piece of wood and a string.
What a beautifull looking bow Danny  The tribute to your brother is very heart warming :archer2:
Great looking bow and an even better tribute!
Very very compliments!!!!
Ciao Amico mio.
Enzo.
Very nice. Not too familiar with Tips I guess, they use limb nuts of some sort instead of limb bolts?
I really like how you can see the B&W ebony streaks through the copperheads, Looks pretty cool. Thank you all for the comments.
Danny
Sure is a beauty, and your Brother would be proud.
God Speed my Friend.
George
I'll say it again, you have very good taste in bows and woods. Dave did an outstanding job, what a beauty!! I'm jealous!
Wow Danny.......
beautiful bow!!!what a nice tribute to your brother
Danny...I had a Silvertip longbow for a while and I always did wonder who does the writing on them...that is very nice writing so my guess would be Beth...I am well known for bad guesses though...I have never met either Dave or Beth...I can feel what great people they are just by talking to them on the phone...is it Montana that does that to them or is it just that great people make Montana what it is?
DDave
Dave,
If I am not mistaken, Dave does the lettering. But I have never asked them who does it.
Very special Danny.... A heirloom for sure !!
