The 4th is always such a family day for us at our Maine cottage. Friends, kids errr...young adults, and grandkids. Today is spectacular with blue sky & lake, boats with American Flags waving, BBQ odors drifting in the wind, and fireworks tonight. I wish all our Service guys & gals over seas could enjoy it like this too. They are always in our hearts....be safe & thank you for making the 4th. tippit

Happy Independence Day from the Central Coast of California............
Between the fields where the flag is planted, there are 9+ miles of flower fields that go all the way to the ocean. The flowers are grown by seed companies. It's a beautiful place, close to Vandenberg AFB.
Check out the dimensions of the flag. The Floral ... Flag is 740 feet long and 390 feet wide and maintains the proper Flag dimensions, as
described in Executive Order #10834. This Flag is 6.65 acres and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with 5 pointed Stars, comprised of White
Larkspur. Each Star is 24 feet in diameter; each Stripe is 30 feet wide. This Flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 Larkspur plants, with 4-5 flower stems each, for a total of more than 2 million flowers. For our soldiers....

Happy Independence Day to everyone! Our freedom was fought for by so many and it seems it is becoming in jeopardy again. Our founding fathers were some pretty smart men and our leaders need to be more cognizant of them.
Our hopes to all that they have a happy and safe 4th. :clapper: :clapper:

Happy Independence Day!
July 4th is a celebration of the Declaration of Independence signing. Has nothing to do with soldiers (that's Memorial Day). Signed in the Carpenters' Union Hall in Philadelphia by members of the continental congress. God bless those far sighted founders for claiming the right to Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness for all in this nation. Happy 4th to all
You are absolutely right Shaun but the signatures on the document would have meant nothing without the sacrifice made by those to enforce it. For me it is about the Founders and the Soldiers or Militia.........
" God bless those far sighted founders for claiming the right to Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness " and those who laid there lives on the line to make independence a reality....
