Title: Cricket questions
Post by: Tallhunter on July 03, 2013, 11:27:00 AM
I have been considering investing in a cricket draw check, but I am unsure as to the effects that it will have on my bow I and when I want to remove it. Will the adhesive damage the finish?

I think it's called Click-it.  Regardless, the adhesive won't hurt the finish.  However, the small chain attached to the spring click arm can chip the paint on your limb.  I remove it and tie the adjusting string directly to the click spring arm.

Do a search for "clickers" over on the Shooter's Forum. Plenty of pics, etc on setting them up.

No, the adhesive won't harm your finish.

I just put one on my longbow. I am starting to shoot with a psycho trigger like Joel Turner uses. Check out the "Target Panic Reality Check" thread on the shooters  forum. I highly recommend relacing the cheap yellow string with D loop string material. Can get it at any bow shop just about. Push it through the hole and melt it. It will get a nice mushroom on the end that shouldnt pull through the clicker. Hope this helps.

I use the Crick-It brand and no the adhesive won't hurt the finish of a bow. Replace the cord as mentioned above however.

That's the name I was trying to think of.   The device also goes by  the name of Klickety Click, and probably a few others.

FYI, they are two different brands. Klickety Click and Crick-IT. Both work very much the same. The blade on the Crick-It is longer.
