Folks,
I just bought a 2 pc. Big Jim Buffalo from the Trad Gang classifieds.
I have seen many fellow bow hunters say things like "out of the box this thing shot great" or "awesome groups right away" etc. I haven't had that experience until this evening.
This thing shoots great! I am very happy with my purchase! Hats off to Big Jim for making such a nice shooting bow.
Any tips on maintenance for the bow? Storage etc? This is my second longbow, and I have it stored with my whip on two rubber coated utility hooks. Upper and lower limbs resting on the hook platforms while the risers float in the middle.
I want these things to last and would like to store them correctly. Thanks!
How you have them hanging will be fine. I know Jim strongly recommends keeping the socket of the takedown lubed at all times. He has a special formula he includes with new takedowns. You might give his shop a jingle and see if you can get some.
It won't hurt to leave it strung as long as you are shooting it frequently. If you end up hanging it for awhile, you should unstring it.
Brace height averages between 7.25 and 7.75"
thanks, bigjim
The man himself! Thanks, Jim and emt137!
Yeah ol' Tiny can flat make a bow. I've owned two. They shoot lights out when you first string'em up and only get better. Plus he's a great guy.
top notch bows and even better service . :clapper:
Jim,
With the brace height...where do you measure to on the riser? Middle, belly, back? Thanks!
Mike D.
I measure mine to the deepest part of the grip, belly side.
Yep, deepest part of the grip to inside of string.
thanks, bigjim
Yep- i own 4 Big Jim bows now. (actually, one i bought for my wife, as a wedding present). I sold one of them and missed it so much i bought it back. Fine bows.
I just got a t/d Buffalo a week or so ago from Big Jim. It's a keeper for sure.
I own 3...wait, 4 of them BigJims bows
Great bows, fantastic service
