Ed Scott and I will be teaming up for a five day bow building class in March here at the Pine Hollow Shop in Arkansas. The class will be five days and you will finish and take home one of Ed's style of bows as well as one of mine. The dates for the five day class is March 3rd through the 7th.
In the class we will cover all the ways to build my style and his style of bow as well as making and processing rawhide and sinew. Lunch will be provided here at the shop other food and lodging as well as transportation is up to each person.
The cost of this one of a kind bow class is 2000.00 per person and the class will be limited to ten people. A non refundable deposit is required to book your spot in this class which can be done by contacting myself @ 479-474-3800 for credit card deposit or questions. We will also have a place on my website soon where you can pay for the class there and use the Paypal buy now pay later offer. This will be a great time to visit with two of the top primitive bow builders in the country and walk away with one from each that you made yourself.
You can reach Ed Scott at 505-287-8134
Reach Mike Yancey at 479-474-3800
As much as I'd love to that would be just too steep a hill for me to climb.
Wow...
What a great once-in-a-lifetime opportunity this would be.
Mike, thanks for bringing this class to our attention.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Man I would love to go........now what can I sell ?
I would love to attend this class but will have to try to sell one of my internal body organs first for the price of admission and I bet it would be worth it. :scared:
Guys this is a lot of money and Ed and I know that but you can be sure of one thing we will pack years of bow building into five days and you will walk away with two fine bows. If you are wanting to learn how to make bows and have a great time doing it this is the real deal. There wont be a time that we wont be teaching you something. Ed and have spent a lot of time together over the years both hunting as well as bow building and I have loved every minute of our time spent together.

Wow, it's not the money, it's the time. Wish I had another week off to play. Two weeks go to the kids, one week for annual Shrewhaven camp and one for the Mrs. alone sans kids.

This guy came all the way from Israel to do a five day class with me this week
Mark Troy is now booked, thanks Mark.
Mike and Ed!
Just spoke with Ed and he said that he will be bringing around 25 sinewed bow blanks that he will have for the class to shoose one each from as his bow part in the class. The extra ones will be offered for sale, this is a great chance to get one of Eds blanks. They will only be offered to the class and is a great oppertunity. Since the class is at my shop you will be able to look through all that I have and I should have as many sinewed blanks as well.
In this class Ed and I will cover how to split logs into staves and how to make rawhide from start to finish as well as many other things.
Mike

Great idea Mike. Glad to see you still coming up with ways to help new bowyers. I saw the thread about your new shop, looks great. I'll have to stop by when I'm coming through that way next time.

W O W ! ! !
That is a stellar opportunity. How often can one work side by side with Ed Scott. I really want to attend, but with my son doing early decision for college this year and a big bill to follow, I couldn't possibly find the funds. I would love to see a picture heavy thread posted after the event. Good luck filling the class!
TTT
We now have Mr Chea Johnson from Chama New Mexico in the class. We have one spot left in this class.
Thank you guys,
Mike
We have filled the last of the 10 spots in this bow class. Mr James Bleess of AZ. will be with us in March.
We might do another class like this in the future.
Thank you,
Mike and Ed
:clapper:
I hope you guys tease us a little with some pictures of the group and their finished products.
Tim
I have been watching this thread and had been contemplating going, but now that the class is filled, I can quit worrying about finding the time and money to attend.
Hope it is a great time for everyone! Maybe sometime I will be able to go to a class like this. For now, I will just learn at a snails pace on my own. I just worked on taking down one of my dried osage staves to one ring last night for my next selfbow.
Be good to have you out some time Kevin.
Mike
The class is in just a little over a week away and we have one guy need to do another class some time due to work problems. With that we have one spot open if any of you would like to make this class. We will post pictures as the class starts and goes along.
