Title: fletchings and arrow flight?
Post by: MulieMike on June 26, 2013, 02:18:00 AM
I just switched fletching and my arrows are still impacting on target but I see a little bit of wobble in the arrow during flight. These new shield cut are a touch taller than my previous fletchings. Have any of you had this happen to you and what did/could one do to get better arrow flight?.....Maybe adjust knock height???

You might have to adjust your arrow on how it sits on the shelf. Could be that the feathers are hittin your strike plate causing it to kick.

The short version... wobble up and down (porpoising) = nocking point. Wobble left and right (fishtailing)= brace height/ arrow spine/ centershot.

Ok, after shooting today my arrows are fishtailing. I played with brace height and it is shooting best as it was. My new arrows are 1/4 inch shorter than my previous and also if I miss what I am shooting for it tends to be to the left aprox. 3" @ 15ish yards. So in theory my arrows are a little stiff. Sense I cant find any arrow stretchers online  ;)  my idea is to try switching from 125 Grain field points to 150s. Do you guys thing this will make the difference???

Thanks for the help so far!
