i was just sitting here going through the pre fall routine getting all my gear ready and even doing a little work on some arrows for a project.
well before putting any time into them i like to give each shaft a little light sanding just to smooth them up. these are POC's! as the aroma filled my little corner of the world i drifted off to another time. there is just something special about the fresh smell of a port orford cedar shaft.
now for why i am an addict. i am sitting here now trying to figure out a way to capture that smell to use in my truck as an air freshener. :help:

Rob, I thought you had 40 hours of video to edit...You are an addict; letting cedar dust take you away from preparing video clips to show us over in Dark Continent. Shame on you :bigsmyl:
hey I want one of those air fresheners!
:bigsmyl: That's a Neat Idea. LOL
When you figure out how to do the air freshner, do the aftershave next, you"ll be a millionare!lol
Try Hunters Specialties Cedar Scent Wafers. They will provide the smell you are looking for and you can refresh them by periodically putting them back in the container in which you receive them.
If you want to try it as an aftershave, rub the Cedar Scent Wafer on your face! ;) :D
Bill
oh i love the smell of poc mmmmmmmmmm :biglaugh:
:smileystooges: :clapper:
If girls really wanted us to get romantic, they'd buy candles that smell like POC and burning leaves :biglaugh:
Strange that you say that, I've often thought that as well. I've even gone as so far to take cedar shavings from arrows, put them in a small fabric bag, and place them under the seat in my truck! I'm right there with ya!!!
hey Mickey you might be on to something there. we can start an entire line of trad scents for the home, office, auto and where ever else we want to enjoy the sweet smell of POC's.
sure would be nice to enjoy that smell all the time and not just in the field when we bust one
Put the sawdust in a salt shaker and give it a shake once in awhile. You will find yourself romantically drifting back in time. The woman have a weak spot for it too.Its better than Tag or Old Spice.
Sage scent for antelope hunting
Lodgepole pine for lion and elk hunting
Now those would be cool candles too
A little doe-in-heat scented cologne for your boss who likes to jog in the woods. ;)
When I lived in California I shared a house with my friend Vernon. I was in one room making up some wood arrow, P.O.C. and I cut the to length. I took one of the nubbins into the other room and toosed it to Vernon and said, "Take a whiff of that." he did and then asked,"Do you have another one of these?" "Yes" and I went and got it and tossed it to him then went back to making my arrows. While they were hanging up and the ssealer was drying I walked back into the living room where Vernon was. There he sat with one bub in each nostril. I guess I had a bewildered expression on my face because he simply said, "Aroma Therapy."
