Title: Waldrop pack seat
Post by: Mississippi bow hunter on June 24, 2013, 10:11:00 PM
I have done a search on the Waldrop pack seat and read a lot of good reviews. I have not seen any pictures of anyone shooting their bows out of one. I am still a little concerned about the height of the seat. I will be shooting super kodiak 60" most of the time. If possible maybe my HH 68". If anyone has a picture while sitting in their Waldrop please post. I did speak to Mr. Waldrop and he said I would be fine shooting either of the bows.

Well, it's surely not a TALL seat. I shoot 62 and 64" bows out of mine, but I cant the bow quite a bit. If your style is very upright, I can foresee situations where a 68" bow could be trouble. These seats are very versatile, but you still have to be alert to lumps, roots, etc that will divert your bow tip. Actually I think a bigger problem for some when they drop from the seat to their knees shoot to their off side.  The seat will adjust to be comfortable on some pretty steep downslopes but for a RH shooter to come off the seat and shoot to his right can be pretty clumsy.  Falling asleep is easy in one of these and you can wake up to a critter you can't shoot!  Better to see them early!

I do shoot with a fairly heavy cant. I am 6'2" that is why I have been concerned with the height of the seat. I will be hunting with a 60" recurve most of the time.  Thanks for the info.

You will have no trouble shooting from this seat. I borrowed one from a friend once and shot Hill style 66" bows easy from it and I`m shorter than you thus lower limb closer to the ground.RC

Thanks for the info. Joebuck I do travel through Oxford from time to time, but not often. I am going to go ahead and order from Mr. Waldrop. He said it would take about two weeks before he could get it sent to me.

Thanks guy's for the generous offer to let me try out Y'all's seats. I live in Kosciusko. It is about 70 miles north of Jackson. If I was a little closer I would definitely take y'all up on the offer. I was thinking about the huntmore 360,but from all my research the Waldrop will be a better fit due to the way I like to hunt. Huntmore 360 is suppose to have a pack set comming out this fall.

I have tried both.. all I can say is I now only own one.

I wish I had bought two of the Waldrop seats.

It is by far the best hunting seat I have ever used.

I have hunted hillsides that I couldn't dream of making any other seat work for me.

God bless,Mudd

My only complaint on the Waldrop is my butt gets sore after 2 hours.  BUTT...I did fix that with a double layer memory foam cushion by Hunt Comfort. The back side is a rubbery fabric that doesn't slide off...tippit
