I just got a batch of blems in on Monday and we have had time to build a bunch of boxes for the rush.
I received mostly 3555's and 5575's but did get a phone call today with reports of 1535's on the way.
I have received very few this year so I expect these will fly out the door too. Don't be late! and please, if at all possible, place orders on line to help us avoid the big traffic jam at the office.
Thanks, BigJim
SWEET!! :archer:
Nice! Been waiting for em'.
What on earth are blem's? Must be something only you boys in the States understand?
Sutto
Blem's are shafts with a small cosmetic blemish that manufacturer sells to dealers at a discount and dealer passes part of that discount on to buyers.
Just ordered me two dozen.
Are there brass inserts available for these? If so, what size do I order?
I just ordered a couple dozen 55/75's and would like some brass to add a bit of tip weight. I had a hell of a time putting brass inserts in the heritage shafts. I had to size them down on a mill. kirk
Hey Kirk, Gold tip makes 100g brass inserts and 50g aluminum inserts. They fit nicely and we have them on our site.
thanks, bigjim
Ordered!
THREE dozen for us!...................Thanks BigJim....and thanks for making the long journey to Comptons... :campfire: :campfire: :campfire:
Right on, just ordered a couple dozen. Thanks for the heads-up!
Big Jim, any word on the 15-35 ? Looking to get a couple doz. for the wife.
Thanks, Tom M
Ordered 2 dozen! Been impatiently awaiting since I just missed the last batch.
Brass inserts for 3555 and 5575 are 5/16 I believe.
Been waiting for these to come in. Just ordered another dozen.
The brass is .246 and as mentioned, gold tip makes them especially for there trad shafts.
I have some 1535's on the way and also some 3555 pink nugents. Should be here next week.
thanks, bigjim
Got my tracking info email.
Thanks bigjim always great dealing with you.
Got my order in early and received tracking number today. Great person to do business with.
Order placed
Ordered a dozen, thanks for the heads up.
My buddy who hardly ever gets on the net has been wanting some for a good while, I texted him as soon as I seen this thread! He was on vacation and ordered via phone. I just simply ordered off the web. Best deal around! Get em while they last!
Ordered! Thanks for the reminder Jim.
Do you have to buy them fletched? It won't allow me to add to cart without fletching choice.
No, use the pull down menu where it says "select" & it will give you the options.
thank you, i will try that
ordered a dozen. thanks jim
You need to look at GT blems carefully. The ones I have show a wide variety of weights (sometimes almost 100 grains) and they do not carry the standard statement about straightness or weight (+/- 2 grains). I haven't shot many of them yet (they are 55/75s), but I'm concerned about the variation in weight and the tinkering that will get them shooting to the same point.
Just my .02Cents.
Richard
Richard, how old are your blems? I have sold nearly 10,000 doz (not a typo) of these in the last five years with less issues than what we've encountered in the non blemished shafts. Some of the older blems 6-10 years ago actually had an ocasional issue (we were told that some of the rejects had gotten in with the blems back then).
They are not marked for straightness yet they are all within the normal "Gold Tip hunter" specs or better and are not plus or minus 2 grains but are not more than a few grains of of that for the entire shaft.
When they put together a set of shafts, they sort them as one would do for wood shafts and put like weights together thus the plus or minus 2g. They don't sort the blems, but they should never be that far off.
Where did you buy your blems from?
thanks, BigJim
Shoot LOTS of GT blems from Big Jim with no issues what so ever. Love 'em and the service is outstanding.
Bought another dozen too!
I guess repeat buyers are the true test. It can take awhile to get a batch of blems and I get nearly all of them..if not all of them and I can sell 500+ dozzen in under two weeks. Not a lot of money to be made in them, but I don't have to worry about them gathering dust!
If you have an issue with them, by all means contact us.
thanks, bigjim
Just ordered my first batch thanks to this thread. Thanks Big Jim.
Ive shot them for a couple years now and have never had a problem. They are good arrows.
BigJim, are you still expecting to get 1535's in?
yep, in a couple days.We only have about 50 doz coming though so don't be late!
thanks, bigjim
TTT
Put my order in today for some 3555's. Thanks Big Jim !!!
Bill
Mine are probably 6 years old, bought from Sipsey River when he was still in business. I have not shot many of them, but I will now and let you know what happens. If the newer ones are OK, then I'll take some.
Sorry to make a fuss.
Richard
I've never had ANY issues with the blems I've ordered from Big Jim, but if I ever did I have no doubt he would do whatever possible to make it right. Great arra's and you won't find better folks to do business with anywhere! Just ordered another couple dozen. Thanks for offering this great deal to us Jim.
YB
I'd like some in camo if u can get them.
Got mine in yesterday tore open a pack and weighed all of them and they are within 2 grains of each other and weight the same as my normal 3555 shafts
Thanks Jim! I have bought them a few times and I find them a great bargin.
Are there any more 3555's coming in?
I never pass up the chance at blems. ordered a dozen 5575's. that's all that's left at the moment, if you're looking.
I have some feathers (pink and white!) in my shopping cart. Just waiting for those 1535's to land.
Jim, Are the 1535's in yet, they will be perfect for my daughter. Thanks.
Fear not....I just weighed a dozen 55/75 blems that came today and the weight difference was less than 2 grains for the entire dozen!
15-35s are here! :bigsmyl:
Thanks James!!!
