Title: Do Not Shoot This Longbow in Dry Conditions !
Post by: Peckerwood on June 16, 2013, 04:01:00 PM
It Will Start A Fire !

I recently got this new to me Harrier GL longbow. I had a chance to shoot it a bit yesterday and am pleasantly surprised at it's performance. With it's D shape, it is faster than my ACS ( which is 4 # heavier ).

It is 68" , weighing 42 # @ 28 in. The riser is Ebony with horn accents. The limbs are carbon with no glass. The grip is perfect for me.

Awesome shape.  Got one of those iconic D shapes reminds me a lot of my 21st.  Good stuff.

Actually it looks like my 21st and a Shrew had a baby.  Bet its a real shooter.  Gotta try one now  ;)

I'm not a hybrid man myself, but that looks hot. Looks like a well crafted bow. Congrats..... Enjoy

Do you have any pics of the un braced bow profile? Also what is your brace height right now and is it what Border recommended or a bit lower?

Beautiful bow, I really like it , God bless, Steve

D shaped? I think it looks like a perfect triangle. Love the strung profile and overall looks. Is it forgiving to shoot as your ACS?

Indeed it 'technically' could be called a triangle, but for all intents and purposes it could be called a D shape.  It's a damn sexy shape either way IMHO.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I am still playing with the tune of the bow but it is a real tack driver. I don't really know what "forgiving" means. So far , I seem to shoot it a little better than my ACS. The draw is very smooth.

Right now I have the brace height set at 6 3/4 in. The recommended brace height is 6 to 7 in. The unbraced shape is almost strait. I will try and get some pictures.
