That is very similar to what I use. The wood at the front should be left a little longer on top so the bow can't pop out under pressure.

after more research
is a tillering stick used mainly to build bow and not adjusting tiller on your knew bow?

A bow you bought should be tillered and finished I would think.  Are you having problems??

no problem
just ordered a Hoyt buffalo and getting all the info I can get on tuning before it arrives
most put a 1/8 positive tiller on them
taught this would be a precise way of finding the exact tiller needed
look like a simple tool to make....

Your new Buffalo will already have that process done.  That device is for adjusting the bend of the limbs on a bow you are building.  You don't need it for a 'finished" bow.

The Buff has limb bolts that will adjust tiller if needed and to an extent you can adjust draw weight.

Just measure the distance from where the limbs come off the top and bottom of the riser to the string.  Turn the bolts to get 1/8" more on top than on the bottom.  Your bow manual should show how to do this.

That's all you will need to do.  Don't over complicate it.

Adjust limb bolts so you have 1/8" more at the fades on the upper limb than the bottom limb for split finger and make them even for 3 under. No need to do anything more.
