Here"s one of mine. I was trying some 2117's out of my Hill Cheetah right at dusky dark when I did this.
Had to use the flash.

Have several other woodies that I've split, but they didn't hang together. Was too sad to take their pictures.
I have busted a bunch of nocks but never shot a Robin Hood.....I guess I have saved a bunch of money.....lol! That looks like a perfect one!
Very nice!!

This is my best tube - I have had a few, I shoot a lot of wood and split them maybe 4-6 inches down and then it diverts off - I am an "average" shot - just shoot a lot I guess or too close maybe - ha!
Ouch...nice shootin

That ^ should be 6
I've cut into a lot of nocks and wood but for some reason it seems a lot harder for me to make "robin Hood's with woodies than when decades ago I shot aluminum.
I still have a few of those hanging around but I'm not nearly as proud of them (wheel bow shot) as I am with my broken nocks and broken woodies.
Good shooting guys!
God bless,Mudd
One of many, I hate when this happens !

A pair of CE90's - one is still functional :)
On days when I'm feeling lucky, I avoid a second arrow at the same spot. Gets expensive.

Fun Fun on Father's Day.... :bigsmyl:
Here are all of mine with trad equip. The two on the far left are cedars. I usually pull out the good arrow and replace it with something old. I don't get nearly as many as I used to since I started shooting skinny carbons. :archer:

Like rraming said....if you shoot enough you get lucky ;)

I just got one yesterday as a matter of fact. Took a pic on my cell phone but don't know how to post it.
How about a "blunt" Robin hood? I took 3 shots at an object on the ground from my back door steps stepped off 37 paces. First 2 arrows were touching and the third smacked the second busting the nock and bouncing back.
Wished my shooting was that good every day :biglaugh:

My one and only, 2016's:

I'm with Ron W. Been shooting some form of bow since I was 15 (now 43), have busted a bunch of nocks (@ times on purpose just to see if I could when shooting wheels), and cracked quite a few carbons. Never had one hit just right though.
My question is,
Is it a true robin hood if it is an accident, and not in the bulls eye.
Should'nt it be if it is a true robin hood it is a bulls eye, and then you ment to hit the bulls eye again causing the robin hood?
Yes, only a Robinhood if split in the bullseye. Otherwise it's a stacked arrow.
I posted this once before but I am still amazed I actually did this.

Nice shooting!
Here is a wood arrow that split all the way down. (http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o599/hitman52/photo1.jpg) (http://s1149.photobucket.com/user/hitman52/media/photo1.jpg.html)
Did a few with unmentionable equipment but this was my only trad Robin Hood:
What would you call it if you split an arrow laterally?
RobinNohood
When my little girl was young (10) we were at the Appalachain :help: saying "what's an arrow cost these days? If you're really that good you should be able to shoot around your own arrows!!" :biglaugh:
The first one's :bigsmyl: real nice( with every new to me bow) but after that :archer2:

In the summer of 1999 I was preparing to kill the bull in my avatar by walking four miles every afternoon on a hilly course then popped into my back yard just before dark
I had a max distance of 33 yards I could shoot diagonally across the back yard at a deer target
I was shooting hunter green aluminums and shot one, loomed good- twice- wow that's right in there too- third arrow - wired- sounded funny but looked good
Walked over and found this- a double Robin Hood

Still have it
That split woodie posted by luvnlongbow is sweet :D

That's true "Sherwood" "Robin Hood"!!
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Last night I ruined a Easton FMJ with another. I split the nock and the shaft was split enough that another nock wouldn't stay in place. What a waist!!!
Regards,
Grouse
luvnlongbow, that might be the coolest, truest robinhood pic I have ever seen!
Here is a few of mine from the last year or so. It is bittersweet; it means you are shooting well but does get expensive!
