When bare shaft tuning the axis arrows do you just shorten the nock end of the arrow if needed?
I am assuming getting the inserts out would be hard to do.
Thanks,
Gary
Nock end it is sir. Those inserts go in an inch and are not easy to get out.
Yep. Trim from the nock end.
Bill
Trim very square.
Nock end on my Beman CenterShots too. They also have a 50-75gr insert.
Thanks boys.
I like to use arrow wraps and have them on when tuning so cutting from the nock end doesn't work for me.I use saran wrap for tuning all my carbons including HIT inserts.I'll push the insert in with a little saran wrap to hold the insert in.I shoot, pull it out, then trim and do it all over again.I have been tuning my carbons this way for about the last 4 years,it's quick and easy to tune without glueing in the inserts. You need a softer target like a bag target that doesn't grag too tight to pull the insert out.
Greetings!
I have also used saran wrap, but with mixed results and have left a number of inserts with field tips in targets.
As John recommended - if you elect to use saran wrap - be sure to use a softer target. In other words a bag like target...
Keep the wind in your face!
Shoot straight, Shinken

Or use low temp hot melt and just heat up the tip they pop right out I never epoxy my inserts in unless they're my hunting arrows good luck!
