I see one guy on a popular auction site selling pre spined bamboo shafts for about 180 bucks per 100 after shipping. I have found another call "Oulay" but can't find any ordering info such as do they come pre spined, what quantity can you get them in and cost. I may have to just call them. Anyway enough rambling where do you guys get your spined and straightened bamboo shafts other than chopping in the wild or home depot. I do not have the time to build from the ground up
Oulay are my fave - $90 with shipping for 50 spined finished 33" shafts - have posted about them before - great deal for a hunting stumping arrow or any target work to 30m - got mine within a week of ordering from fleabay - M
thanks man. What kind spines does your bow like. How big of a weight variance? Have you had any problems fitting them with field points and or broad heads? Thanks.
Got 50-55# spine - used 100gn field points & 4" shields - the ends were easily shaped so I glued on nocks - weights of the shafts were mainly 26-27g - shoot well out of longbow & recurves in the high 30s to high 40s - M
50-55 in a 40lb recurve? hmm may have to move up in spine quite a bit for my 50lb r/d long bow unless you are leaving them full length....?
Yup - I have a 32" DL
I have some from a guy on the big E, 85-90 spine that are very good quality and consistent. Higher spines cost more but they're still under $2 each with shipping. The horn nocks are nice too.
think 60-65 might give me some decent results with a 29 inch arrow and 145 grain heads out of a 50lb r/d long bow my draw length is 28. Thanks for all the info btw.
