I purchased a Big River Longbow a few months ago and and it has proven to be a real shooter that fits me very well. I am really interested in a take down from John. Looking for some Big River owners that own a 2 piece that can give some reviews.
Well Tony, I am a Big River shooter, I have three so far, but I don't have a takedown - yet. I talked to John about one recently but I haven't pulled the trigger on it. John does the sleeve type of takedown and I can't imagine that it would perform any less than what you are experiencing with your current bow.
Sorry to say unless you find a used one you are out of luck. John is in the hospital after a hip replacement. He is doing good. I believe the days of him buliding a td bow are gone. He hated making them before and at 84 years old, I`m guessing he will make only bows in the future that he feels like. He will be in rehab for quite a bit.
Sorry to hear about Johns health issues. That is very sad news about him not building anymore TD bows. I have heard that information before and was hoping it was not true. Guess I am going to have to pay attention to the used market.
Still like to hear from TD owners.
