I replaced the vhs that I lent out years ago with a new dvd of Asbell's Instintive Shooting Video. I watched it again for the fun of it and was reminded of a couple of things I had forgotten. It's such a high quality instructive video...and Fred has forgotten more about shooting than I know :)
I have to be careful with instructional videos. Even high quality like Asbell. They sometimes get into my head and take my focus off the spot.
The old VHS was the one that got me started.
I'm a big fan of Fred Asbell. My bud "Ric O'Shay" and I attended the P&Y convention in Dallas in early April, primarily to attend a seminar on "Instinctive Shooting for Bowhunting" put on by Fred. I purchased the DVD at that time, even though I had viewed the VCR version on several occasions, and I'm glad I did. It was $20.00 well spent and will serve as a great reference source for me and others for years to come. :campfire:
That was the first video getting me started in traditional archery... My main interest (then) was in hunting deer... G. Fred said at the end of his video something to the effect of: "Shooting a bow and arrow is one of the joys in life for me. Maybe it will be for you one day." At first I thought this guy is nuts! But now... He Was So Right! OMG! Can't get enough of this stuff!
God Bless You G. Fred Asbell!
