I'm going to receive a 1 piece spitfire soon that I bought on the big auction site - I'm going to refinish it. My question is I noticed that there is a number 2 stamped in the riser (below the grip centered in the riser)....but I can't find any information on the web that would explain the meaning of it....? thanks for any insight...

I've shot Groves bows since the 60's and have never seen that.
Thanks Bill....was wondering if they ever sold bows as seconds...?

Bear would stamp a '2' in the riser of 'seconds'.
Twice as good?
like you thought on that one Raghorn...!

Perhaps it was a rental or club bow at some point......
I own a Spitfire and sold many...never seen that.
